Lot's of good advice. I would like to add that by being open and transparent you may have inadvertently poisoned the well with your GF if you decide to stay with her long-term. By discussing this with her, you've let her know you are at least considering leaving her for your ex. And if you don't, since you will have continued contact with your ex because of your daughter, it will always be in the back of your GF's mind that maybe next month or next year you might change your mind. And that can be a serious wedge in your relationship with her. It's good to want to be honest and not hurt anyone's feelings, but sometimes it's better to hold your feelings close to your chest until you've truly made up your mind, and then make a clean break.

I call this romanticizing the past, just like fictional movies that are "set" in a historical time frame but take broad liberties with historical details in an attempt to get the audience to better identify with the story.

I've played more CoD Zombies than I care to think about. Still mostly playing Skyrim right now. Every few months I'll play some Civillization 4 or Simcity 4. Played Everquest for 5 years so I stay away from MMORPGs now.

I'd mention the chin length bangs that you have to constantly brush back behind your ears (like DiCaprio in Titanic), but I'd be ashamed to say I ever actually tried that hairstyle in the late 90's.

Charisma does go a long way in your local congo among people you know. But you have to push the boundaries slowly and get them used to it. Then you have to shave it off when you're the visiting speaker at another congregation because otherwise you'll get dirty looks from people who don't know you and someone will call your PO complaining about your chops, soul patch and five o'clock shadow.

One at a Time
by arko_n9ne ini live with my wife and her two brothers.
her two brothers are witnesses, though one seems to have "faded" but denies it whole-heartedly.
regardless of position, they stick to their guns, well, the wts's guns, about everything.. unless you've read my other posts, you wont know their names, so i'll refer to them as 28 and 31, for the sake of time.. to understand my passion, you need to understand the audacity of my experience with these two.. a lil bit about me-.

Well I won't comment right now if it's a good idea to purposely try and get them DF'd but I will pass on one tidbit of advice if you do choose that course. Even if they what they did is really bad, and even if their attitude isn't fully repentant they can still get off with a private reproof if the elders choose to. You have a better chance at getting them disfellowshipped when what happened becomes common knowledge in the congregation or community before they get ratted out. So loose lips and spreading a few rumors that can't be tied directly back to you might serve your purpose better than going directly to an elder with proof.

CERN claims faster-than-light particle measured
by botchtowersociety inhuh?.
cern claims faster-than-light particle measuredgeneva (ap) -- a fundamental pillar of physics - that nothing can go faster than the speed of light - appears to be smashed by an oddball subatomic particle that has apparently made a giant end run around albert einstein's theories.. scientists at the world's largest physics lab said thursday they have clocked neutrinos traveling faster than light.
that's something that according to einstein's 1905 special theory of relativity - the famous e (equals) mc2 equation - just doesn't happen.. "the feeling that most people have is this can't be right, this can't be real," said james gillies, a spokesman for the european organization for nuclear research, or cern, outside the swiss city of geneva.. gillies told the associated press that the readings have so astounded researchers that they are asking others to independently verify the measurements before claiming an actual discovery.. "they are inviting the broader physics community to look at what they've done and really scrutinize it in great detail, and ideally for someone elsewhere in the world to repeat the measurements," he said thursday.. scientists at the competing fermilab in chicago have promised to start such work immediately.. "it's a shock," said fermilab head theoretician stephen parke, who was not part of the research in geneva.

N.drew, though I don't feel atheism is a lie, I would agree that the statement can apply to a lot of athiests because of the personal motivations that underly their views. Even if Christianity is correct, I'm sure you would agree that a lot of people believe in it for the wrong motivations.
And for your statement about believing something because it's convenient for you, hey there's a rule for that too!
Wizard's Tenth Rule
Willfully turning aside from the truth is treason to one's self.
The truth is what should motivate your life, not the lies, or you will fall victim to the first rule and if you ignore the truth you're betraying everything that you believe in, because the lie is more convenient to you than reality. (Phantom, Chapter 12, Page 127)

AK-Jeff,
"Religionists" can't answer your question, but Terry Goodkind did a pretty good job of answering it in his fantasy novels!
Wizard's First Rule
People are stupid, they will believe something because they want it to be true; or they're afraid it might be true.
Given proper motivation, almost anyone will believe almost anything. Because people are stupid, they will believe a lie because they want to believe its true, or because they're afraid it might be true. Peoples' heads are full of knowledge, facts and beliefs, and most of it is false, yet they think it all true. People are stupid; they can only rarely tell the difference between a lie and the truth, and yet they are confident they can, and so are all the easier to fool. (Wizard's First Rule, Chapter 36, Page 397)
Wizard's Sixth Rule
The only sovereign you can allow to rule you is reason.
The first law of reason is this: what exists, exists; what is, is; and from this irreducible bedrock principle, all knowledge is built. It is the foundation from which life is embraced.
Thinking is a choice. Wishes and whims are not facts nor are they a means to discover them. Reason is our only way of grasping reality; it is our basic tool of survival. We are free to evade the effort of thinking, to reject reason, but we are not free to avoid the penalty of the abyss that we refuse to see. Faith and feelings are the darkness to reason's light. In rejecting reason, refusing to think, one embraces death. (Faith of the Fallen, Chapter 41, Pages 459-460)
Wizard's Seventh Rule
Life is the future, not the past.
The past can teach us, through experience, how to accomplish things in the future, comfort us with cherished memories, and provide the foundation of what has already been accomplished. But only the future holds life. To live in the past is to embrace what is dead. To live life to its fullest, each day must be created anew. As rational, thinking beings, we must use our intellect, not a blind devotion to what has come before, to make rational choices. (Pillars of Creation, Chapter 60, Page 549)
Wizard's Ninth Rule
A contradiction can not exist in reality. Not in part, nor in whole.
To believe in a contradiction is to abdicate your belief in the existence of the world around you and the nature of the things in it, to instead embrace any random impulse that strikes your fancy - to imagine something is real simply because you wish it were. A thing is what it is, it is itself. There can be no contradictions.
Faith is a device of self-delusion, a sleight of hand done with words and emotions founded on any irrational notion that can be dreamed up. Faith is the attempt to coerce truth to surrender to whim. In simple terms, it is trying to breathe life into a lie by trying to outshine reality with the beauty of wishes. Faith is the refuge of fools, the ignorant, and the deluded, not of thinking, rational men.
In reality, contradictions cannot exist. To believe in them you must abandon the most important thing you possess: your rational mind. The wager for such a bargain is your life. In such an exchange, you always lose what you have at stake. (Chainfire, Chapter 48, Page 489)
