a moggy is a cat. scabby is just something covered with scabs, ie the crust that forms over a wound.

@magwitch I dont think anyone says cell phone over here unless they are a pretentious git who comes back from a visit to USA with a pretend accent (you know the kind) and yea its mobile pronounced 'mow-byle' not 'moble'
gar-edge not gah-rarrge and we say our t's as t's in the middle of words and not d's like bottle is not boddle. - unless you are lazy or common and then you say - i cant even type it but you miss the ts out altogether, and kind of say boh-lle with a definite break between sylables. - now if you are super commoon you will say boccle, but thats just nasty.
what about council estates, our American cousins? what say you on those?

@undercover - right then, lets answer that, yes sorry is used all the time, or do you mind, and may I. at least amongst those of us who are taught to interact and not just grunt.and yea cheers mate means thanks, I think the aussies use that too,. we also say it to raise a glass though.
@sacolton - no one says that ever. except maybe lord burleigh at the coronation of Elizabeth I. and no sadly thats a myth about the guards, you cant get near them, they are well tucked behind the gates of the palace. but they do have some good displays when they change the guards, yes Ive seen the sights a few times, used to take 30 students every year..
@babygirl - only elderly or geeks would say cheerio lol, as they stepped into the lift and waved at you!

Is internet dating for losers?
by Newborn inafter almost a year of internet dating on various sites, i've concluded that it's not the place for me to meet the man of my dreams.
anyway, i'm happy i've given it a shot and i've gained lots of experience and even made a few male friends.
anyone here who's had better luck?.

@babygirl, pissed means drunk or angry, depending on the context. we often say pissed off, but you might say im am so pissed in an annoyed tone or I was pissed or are you getting pissed or lets get pissed. for drunk. a pisshead is a drunkard.
some pissed people go for a piss in the street and that really pisses me. - I forgot it means urinate too. x
er no we dont have cobblestones but some still exist and they put them in pedestrianised areas for aesthetic value.

H.P stands for hire purchase. its a credit agreement when you buy something, say a TV and pay monthly, but unlike a credit card or a store card, if you fail on payments they can take the goods back.

Ha Ha Ha. I dont think I have ever seen anyone wear a bowler hat. I think they did in 1910.. erm my teeth arent bad you saw my facebook photo. it does rain a lot that I agree with, and I do drink tea a lot. I dont like to run around topless unless required, we do say wot, but not eh wot, more like what? what you on about? wanker is a fun word, but I dont really use it. I suppose your equivalent is jerk off?
and as for being knocked up in the morning, ha ha I didnt get the inference of that until now, probably because its not an expression I would use, but I have heard it said. I'd say Ill get you up..
slang is different everywhere you go, and accents and dialects are really diverse here from one town to the next.. Cockney Rhyming slang I only think Dick Van Dyke used that lol, but in manchester there is some weird slang, that people from elswhere would stare at you blankly over ..
