OUTLAW the tranlitteration of God's name as Jehovah is just one version of how to represent the name in English.
Whether you use Jehovah or Yahweh, or Yehowah, or even Yahowah or Yahwah, like some Messianic Christians, they are all made up forms just like Jesus and Jeremiah, Josiah and Jehu etc. etc.
Ancient Hebrew didn't use vowels in their alphabet. At most they'd use some of the consonants to hint at a vowel sound like using Y for I and E, and H for A and E or W for O and U.
The pronunciation of Hebrew also changed over time and there are signs in the Hebrew Scriptures that there were dialectal pronunciation differences among the Israelite tribes even before the Royal period.
So to use IEHOVAH and IESUS in Latin is perfectly ok linguistically speaking since these are just representations of a foreign word into another language with a different alphabet. They are at best aproximations of the sounds and not supposed to be exactly as pronounced.
So I wouldn't go around calling the poor Spanish monk a dimwit, you dimwit.
