i wonder if anyone actually enjoys them.

i have heard scattered reports about how a few actually enjoyed at least a few of the older songs (back when there were 225 of them).

but i have heard nothing but reports of the new songs being impossible to properly sing, very poorly written or performed, or downright blasphemous and promoting blatant idolatry.

The no beard or facial hair rule

okay, something that has always been a side point but still a rather ridiculous rule is that brothers cannot "serve" if they have a beard/goatee/anything more than just a moustache.

at least in the states, i've heard of some congregations in some countries allow this, but they are the exception?

your experience?.

In Scandanavia, it's 100% a matter of taste. There are lots of elders with beards.

I dont know where you got this information, at least in this Scandinavian country I live in there is not ONE elder with beard. Its not acceptable here, no way.

Numbers of memorial

i don't know if anyone has this or if its available yet, but does anyone have the numbers of the partakers of the memorial this year?.

They used to be mentioned in KMs before soon after the memorial (at least in my country, I mean numbers of my country, not the whole world) but this year they only mentioned the number of attendance, not partakers. I wonder why...

The GB is smaller now than it has ever been (since the GB arrangement in current form started in 1971). I dont believe it will be like this for long, they might suddenly appoint 5 new ones or so, like in 2000 they appointed 4.

Oh yes, Bowen used to be a Gilead instructor and Malenfant is the vice-president of the Society if I remember correctly.

Weaver is black but I dont know if anointed or not. Bowen and Malenfant are (anointed).
