Why do you no longer believe in God?
Which God are you referring to?
i know this question has popped up from time to time but i really would like to know how you guys, those that no longer believe, came to that conclusion?
was it the wts and all its crap?
was it something you read?
Why do you no longer believe in God?

boy oh boy did i feel paranoid at today's wt.
not only are we to watch our associations outside of the congregation, but also watch our associations 'within' the congregation.
this was emphasised by the wt study conductor.

This was emphasised by the WT study conductor. It was as if he was saying just watch everyone brothers. BE CAREFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Sounds like it's time to leave.
my husband was recently subjected to an intervention by his parents.
i am apparently a danger to his spirituality.
after i stopped attending meetings and went apostate hubby decided to resign as a ms to spend more time with me.
after some considerable thought i have decided that i will no longer post on this forum because i want to return to jehovah.
thank you for all the kindness and many interesting discussions over the years.
i wish you all well in the future and the decisions you make.
SBF, I do like your Gravatar. And welcome back. The 'dog's vomit' isn't that bad is it?
Lots of changes in JW world over the last couple of years. Of course, 100 years of no Armageddon is starting to wear thin. I saw long ago that the Watchtower was hurting families as I went through this in the 1990s. Their 'kick your unbelieving family to the curb' phase was particularly brutal for some. What I have found in life is that the real truth does eventually come out. Not many abusers are able to sustain anonymity forever. They get bolder when they have initial success but eventually, they slip up and others begin to see what they are really like.
so here's an interesting thing that happened lately.
if you guys have followed my previous posts, you probably know my mother almost died from severe anemia, decided to take blood transfusions to avoid death and the elders announced the congregation she disassociated.
last week a "brother" came to visit from a congo about 100 kilometers away.
cookiemaster, that elder sounds like a genuine person. This religion needs to innovate and change or either have another schism occur or die out altogether. I think the schism or splintering is already underway. It has been called 'the Conscious Class' for one. It will be interesting to see the next stage of Evolution for this group.
The only result from oppression is revolution and change.
Hi Kiana and welcome. I call JW's 'Jehovans' instead of 'Christians'. Blondie is correct. They believe they must speak to Jehovah (aka Jehoopla) through Jesus.
Their prayers all start "Heavenly Father Jehovah.... blah blah blah ..." and end with "through the office of your Son, our King and Redeemer, amen" (or something to that effect). They ALWAYS pray to Jehoopla.
Theodicy is a major issue with many non-believers who once believed or others that just didn't buy into the fantasy. Researching pre-Christian ancient beliefs opens one's eyes to where it
all came from. There were once many Gods and Goddesses. Some cultures
still believe this. It is a method ancient humans used to define their
world. But reality alone refutes the claims present day religions make. Add to it the advances in our knowledge in all disciplines such as Science, Mathematics, Geology, Biology, Astronomy, Archeology etc, etc and this makes accepting mythology as truth impossible.
It's called faith because it isn't knowledge.
