JW EXPERT WITNESS FLOORED BY COMMISSION OF INQUIRY LAWYER

much has already been written about dr monica applewhite, the expert witness hired by the jw organization.

her job was to provide "expert" testimony to the australian commission of inquiry into jehovsh's witnesses' policies and practices on child sexual abuse.

astonishingly, dr applewhite was unprepared for the inquiry lawyers' questions.

The real issue is are the published policies actually working? And is the organization REALLY protecting victims? I think over 1,000 known abusers since 1950 without one ever being reported to the appropriate authorities shows they are not. I see this as the bottom line goal of the RC's inquiry and I applaud it.

If Applewhite knew of abuse cases I think she should have made a simple phone call to the police to see if there were any cases open with them and what the results were or what status the case was in (if they are at liberty to discuss that). If there were no open cases, I think it is her duty to inform the police that she has received information about cases and did they want that info. To me THAT is the proof in the pudding. That's what I would do. Doesn't sound like that is something she's ever done.

So far I'd have to say that Botchtower's words are substanceless. You can say whatever you want but if your behaviours don't mirror your words, then the words are meaningless and really, lies.

Dagney... I always wondered why my folks never had the JWs over to their house for dinner or get togethers. I think I know why now. I think my parents knew there were issues but didn't know how to deal with it all.

hello to all who are watching.

his honour is being tested by wt lawyer in the last thirty minutes of day 4. the lawyer wants to bring in updates on the societies handling of child molestation cases.. his honour tells the lawyer that if he "lawyer" wants a contest between who is better than who....forget it.. his honour is slightly pissed off as wt lawyer just won't back down and insists that this evidence is very important and........"progressive" ( i think ) his honour then continues to tell nice wt jerk type lawyer, that if he thinks this will dispel all that happened to past victims..........think again.. i rough summary but fairly accurate people......god, that wt lawyer is a hateful lying, scheming son of a bitch........

Applewhite has some more work to do and she's gonna have to re-arrange her schedule to do so.

Thanks for these guys. Wow... just ... wow. Again, I am so embarrassed that my grandfather and parents got sucked into the JWs and that some of my family are still in.

Over a thousand abusers... and NOT ONE was reported to the authorities. WTF?!

I think this letter should be posted on the website that has the hearing about this particular elduh's book.

edited to add: I wonder how the ordinary JW is going to feel knowing a Catholic-of Satan's Christendom, worldly, woman has seen this book and they haven't. Seems the lowly publisher has just dropped below that of a Catholic person in importance. Hmmm...

i am shocked that an expert would simply examine only the literature given to her by the organisation she was defending and simply accept it.

also the ease she has in making huge sweeping statements when comparing the jw's to all other international religious organisations simply undermines her professionalism.. i am also thoroughly shocked at her blatant, 'expert for hire', 'will defend anyone' apparent decision making, the organisation is responsible for covering up thousands of abuse victims by its own records, in australia alone!

never mind their judicial process being heartless and traumatic!.
