My summer is being consumed with getting my Dad's contents ready for auction. Once that's done, the next phase is dumpster and getting anything done to sell his house. So not much fun for me this year. Will be happy when it's all done.

I was encourage to read the Bible, but the correct Bible

i was told i need to read the bible, but the correct bible before it's to late.
the sign that the end is close is very obvious-(gay marriage is legal) .

There is no such thing as a correct Bible.
What we have today are copies of copies of copies, etc, etc. The originals are long gone. From the copies of copies of copies, etc, mistakes were made during those copying processes due to the fact that they were manually copied time and again. The Bible cannot be viewed as 100% accurate.

I'm suspect of any theory that has a foundation of the Bible or attempting to prove the Bible due to the Bible's error riddled content. Ancient desert dwellers had no idea of how the universe worked and this is crystal clear in their writings within said holy book, starting in Genesis.
It hasn't worked for archeology either, it's actually worked against it. They had to stop doing that because they found their information was incorrect.

Just two weeks in our new home and the knock at the door happens!!
by truthseekeriam injust relaxing with my morning coffee enjoying looking at the pictures fipper shared of the camping trip when the dreaded knock came.
of course the dogs beat me to the door followed by my daughter trying to catch them, she looks through the giant peep hole and waves me away saying "its them.
" i almost just walked away from the door when i saw the sweet face of a 5/6 year old little boy with his mom and dad and couldn't resist talking to them.. i opened the door and smiled and said jehovah's witnesses?

I think that was very kind of you to give them your input and time and that you were respectful but frank with them.
I think your suggestion to the man to ask the elders about child abusers within the congregation is an excellent one. It's a benchmark too. I would also suggest that he ask them to let him know if any future abusers join. That way, if anything ever happens to any of his children, he has some ammo with the authorities. It also puts responsibility on the elders.

Unless things change, children are really a liability in this religion. The odds are they are going to leave it. Having children detracts from the parents being able to devote more time to Field Serve-Us and meeting attendance/indoctrination sessions. -

Human Potential is Awesome - We Visited Pluto Today
by cofty innasa's probe "new horizons" was launched in 2006 and since then has been speeding across 3 billion miles of space to the most distant planet in our solar system.. the first pictures arrived today with higher resolution images due tomorrow.. i fu~~ing love science.. more details from the bbc here.... .

Ok, so I have a question which has been on my mind for a while.
Why is it that all the other planets' moons have coolio names but ours is simply 'The Moon'.
Can we not come up with an awesomely cool name for our own natural satellite? Sheesh!
How about using lunar deities, such as the Greek goddesses Artemis, Selene (Phoebe is already in use as one of Saturn's moons)?
Any other ideas?

i stopped going in my heart properly in nov 2013, but i went to a couple of meetings to support a love one that was df'd and tried to teach them a little ttatt.. now another df'd loved one is coming to see me today and will likely encourage me to try and get ri'd, and i want to support her.

Futility of being right
by JWdaughter inso, on another thread, about pluto, grreat teacher said something that speaks to my feelings about religon.
"i've kinda been sad since pluto has been demoted to dwarf planet.. you talk about 9 planets and all the little kids at school will correct you real quick and tell you that now there are only 8 planets in the solar system!".
nothing in the universe has changed but the opinion of men.

Sooo... this is not exactly aligning with the topic here but... years ago a colleague of mine gave me a Pluto sticker.
The caption on it read "100% Dog"
Now, I think, any 'normal' female would have been highly insulted by this sticker.
I thought it was rather humourous myself. I had to consider the source. He was an older Chinese gentleman and English was definitely not his strong suit.
