This was after a BBQ at my house. Eric did the BBQ'ing, but we forgot to put the garlic bread on and so at the last minute, Eric threw all the slices on the grill to cook them quickly. I told him he was crazy, but he assured me they would be good, and WOW! They were yummy!

I always put my garlic bread directly on the grill now.

What Can We Do to Show How We Cared about Oompa?

i know others have posted on the original thread.

several people, including myself, would like to do something concrete to show our concerns re: his treatment by the jw, and how important he was to all of us here.

i suggested a handwritten note, on behalf of the whole community here, flowers, and perhaps a donation to a charity that helps people get back on their feet.

Here is the address for Eric's business that he owned.

His sons names are Travis and Ty. The boys were both OUT, so they would probably appreciate the cards.

If cards are in their names, I'm sure there will be employees of Eric's that will pass them on to the boys.

SAD news about OOMPA......

our friend, oompa, has passed away.

just recieved the news a couple of hours ago, and have almost no details.

it happened today or yesterday, he took his own life.

Earlier this year, when I was living alone for the first time in my life, Eric called all the time to make sure I was okay. Even after my hubby got here, he phoned all the time - often late at night , just to talk and laugh.

He was a very kind and caring man.

Stevie Nicks thread

i have always been been a huge stevie nicks fan even when i was a kid when she came out with rhiannon.

i dont go to many concerts but if there is a way to see her when she tours next year i will be in the audience!

it's hard for me to pick a favorite song by her but if i had to choose it would be storms.

imo an excellent blog post by sam harris..... we are free to burn the quran or any other book, and to criticize muhammad or any other human being.

let no one forget it.. most secular liberals think that all religions are the same, and they consider any suggestion to the contrary a sign of bigotry.

Then that would not be judging an entire group of people by the actions of some. That would be judging a few for their own actions (or at least what you see as their actions). And that is not what i am speaking out against on this thread. Now if you were to take the actions of those people, and then judge all others of that belief system by the actions of those few people... then THAT would be what i am speaking out against.
