  the watchtower society and god have no similarity.. in my experience, as a 14 years-old-boy i was carrying a heavy burden of sin.

  then i was told that jesus christ left all of heavens glory, came into this world and lived a perfect life for 33 1/2 years and then died on that torture stake for sinner.

  as i heard this, i asked myself if i was really hearing what this man was saying.

  What an interesting exchange. Doesn't the 'mouth speak out of the abundance of the heart' sometimes LOL? He would probably have been more correct to say that you, in all likelihood, have nothing to look forward to in the long term except the cold grave he refers too (given your 10% wiggle -room, unless of course there is some ongoing existence about which it would appear you have insufficient information to form a definitive view - a perfectly reasonable position to adopt IMHO).

  On the other hand he has the conviction and certainty afforded by his beliefs. I am sure that is a tremendous comfort when he is talking to those who have accepted his position with regard to the Bible. For those of us who haven't however there is one flaw in his argument - it's bollocks.

  I don't think it is necessarily a waste of time debating with people like this. Not because you will alter their view, I think that is most unlikely, but because those reading the dialogue who may be uncertain have an opportunity to consider the arguments advanced.

  More power to your elbow mate.

  Can you be an atheist and believe in logic and maths?

  atheists are, by definition, naturalistic materialists; i.e.

  they believe that only the physical universe exists, only the nature exists therefore there is no supernatural and certainly no god.. can you, therefore, be an atheist but believe in logic and maths?

  they're also not made of matter.. is it true to say, then, that the atheist worldview is contradictory?

  I am probably missing the point here however I don't see how believing there is no God (ie atheism) or gods, necessarily prevents one from believing in some other 'thing' unless the 'other thing' is by its nature dependent on a God or gods. For example, if I believed we were immortal why would that mean I had to accept there is or may be a God? Unless one is perhaps equating atheism with materialism - I don't see a necessary connection if so.

  i was recently directed to post some truths about the harlot, babylon the great, including who she is (i.e., those who profess to be in union with christ, but are not, and so commit fornication with the "kings of the earth" (e.g., persons such as popes, gb members, and other so-called "leaders" who believe they have been given charge over a "kingdom"... but have not... yet (revelation 17:12)... and when they are, it is soley for the purpose of destroying the harlot (revelation 17:13, 16-18)).. some have taken issue with this truth (who babylon the great is), and praise jah, our lord has given me more to share with you on that matter.

  some of you may have already received this truth; however, for those who have not, i share the following, taken from chapters 8 and 9 of the proverbs:.

  i was watching cnn, an d they asked this question and this one lady called in and claimed she wasn't raised in a religious household.

  but she remembered when she was in elementary school that this jw girl asked her if she was spritual she said no, then the jw told her she would go to hell.
