Hi Chalam
Thanks for your polite response. I think it is both but its my problem to be honest.
do you ever post without quoting the bible?
why do you feel a compulsive need to quote scriptures in all your posts?
were you once a bible-thumping jw or are you just a born-again bible thumper who never was a jw and just happens to dislike jws?.

I got the impression that this outfit fell apart when the "leader" kicked the bucket. The problem with the WTS is perhaps that is has 'construct' as a leader and not an individual that simply keeps metamorphosing like a snake shedding its skin.

I find them somewhat irritating at times because a) they appear to be everywhere and are often unsolicited and b) I have no time for the Bible or organised religion of any form, it is easy enough to ignore them though I do think they make Chalam look like he is suffering from some compulsion to post them - this doesn't surprise me given his background. I am certain he and the above posters are sincere. Either way the same old arguments about how good the Bible is are no more convincing to me for their repetition but I wouldn't try to stop anyone repeating them if it makes them feel better. I would just ask Chalam to consider others who do not share his view of the "good book".
People can believe whatever they like but I do sometimes feel like I am having it rammed down my throat again when it is on threads that don't really call for it. Perhaps we can find some other book to repeatedly quote on the forums as well? My vote would be Bhagavad Gita or Lord of the Rings.
i haven't followed the generation change in the doctrine that closely, just read a few snippets of the overlapping generations doctrine.
i find this hard to believe even for the pathological liars the governing body.. has anyone seen the 4/15/2010 watchtower with their own eyes?.
can anyone validate that the wtbts really is saying this overlapping generation idea the way it is being quoted on the internet in a few places?
a billion Catholics think the Pope is infallible and contraception is wrong
I think you will find a lot of them don't believe that lol
ok so i dont believe in the bible anymore, but i what about all the prophecies that were "fullfilled" by jesus and all of the other fulfilled prophesis of bible?.
any commnents.
who jest?

michael jackson planned to convert to islam, according to his brother jermaine.. jermaine alleges the late king of pop, 50, was close to converting shortly before he died suddenly last june.. jermaine himself converted to islam in 1989 after being raised with his siblings as a jehovah's witness.. michael was in the process of studying islam and was moved by its teachings when he spent a year living in the bahrain region, jackson said.. he said: 'i believe that islam would have helped him a lot.
had he converted, he would have been spared all the problems he had been subjected to throughout his life.'.
according to Watchtower custom, whatever that means.
Apparently it means under a pyramid.

Cattails - alas I cannot claim responsibility for my avatar though I told it bears a striking resemblance :) - what's really weird is that the Purple Triangle was used to identify Jehovah's witnesses in the concentration camps, so clearly the brain is some form of decoration.
....either in publications, during talks or by individual witnesses?.
Fortunately I didn't come across WTS until 1982 by which time I was already at University. I still can't believe how damn stupid I was giving up my career in the forces and disconnecting from all my 'worldy' friends. I dread to think how many vulnerable people get enmeshed in its foolish idealogy.

I like the way you handled that PP. I do find constant references to the Bible tiresome.
