question on memorial for Research Lady
by isaacaustin inhi rick and inez.... i was just curious if you guys and the gang ever thought about peacefully and quietly attending the memorial, (with the intent of partaking)...you have a pretty sizeable group.
would the elders ask you all to leave and call the police if you did not leave?
bear in mind there could be visitors so this could be sticky and undesireable to have to call in the police.. thoughts?.

They couldn't ask anyone who turned up to leave as it is a PUBLIC meeting. They spend months/ weeks beforehand preparing for this meeting and increasing their time spent in the ministry to get members of the public to come along to boost the numbers in attendance. If any of the ex JWs came along they would be treated like everyone else but probably with a close eye kept on them. At most it would unsettle them and cause a fair bit of whispered comments and pointing of fingers, but to call the police would detract from the occasion and bring unwanted publicity.

My husband was considering it to try and 'make a point' that the emblems should be taken (John 6:53). But why would you want to do such a thing within the setting of the KH where everyone else there does not share that belief and would be appalled if you; the ex JW, apostate, child of Satan came in and were basically giving them the two fingered salute by taking the emblems. It would just confirm to them what a filthy , disrespectful defector you were. The point would be totally lost on them.

Why did you leave and did you still hold on to some beliefs for a while?
by happpyexjw inwhen you left the wts did you leave over something specific?
did you, or do you, still believe in some of the jw ideas?.
in my own case i left over a family issue i have mentioned elsewhere.

My curiosity was aroused when I read an article in an Awake mag. , encouraging the reader to 'exdamine the roots of their religion'. I remember commenting to my husband that as a JW I had never done that. Started with the Proclaimers book ,seeing as this is the official take on the orgs. history and was stuck on page630 onwards where the list of FALSE DATES are mentioned along with their 'excuses' about the bros. being 'over zealous' at the time and full of'good intentions' etc etc. I knew what Deut 18 said concerning False Prophets' and I couldn't get it out of my head. I read that scripture every day, two or three times a day for the next few weeks. I decided that if the WTBTS had gone against Scripture and made excuses for it , but still claimed to be the org. God was using then I had to get out. I then got my hands on every book I could to find out everything else I could find out about them and I was Shocked about how far away from the True religion they actually were.
I D'ad 6months ago, and have found it difficult to accept who JESUS really is, to accept the concept of the Trinity etc. But I have accepted that the org. and its teachings are littered with lies. I have attended an ALPHA course but was too fresh out of org, to accept what I was being taught. There was a lot of resistance on my part because my mind wasn't entirely free yet. I am now on my 2nd ALPHA course ,mainly cos I'm accompanying my mum who came out of org a few months ago, but this time my mind is more receptive to what I'm hearing and what I'm being shown in the Bible. I have been reading the Bible with fresh eyes and without the filter of the FDS and have found a big difference in how Jesus is portrayed. Things wont happen overnight, but I would advise you to keep praying and to keep reading your Bible and things WILL be revealed to you. YOU WILL KNOW THE TRUTH...and it Will set you free.

CONGRATULATIONS MARK AND GAIL
by iknowall558 init was fantastic watching both of you being baptized today.
before i came to witness it , i just thought 'oh well, that's great, if thats what you want to do then why not ' .
i wasnt prepared for how much it would affect me and its made me re-think the whole thing.

password protected and his wife were baptized at the Riverside Gospel Church today. There were 12 ex JWs in attendance , most of which have all come from same congregation in the past year or two. It was amazing to be told that several Christians have been praying for the JWS at the local kingdom hall to come out of the org. for the past few years. Did God answer their prayers ? YES ! When I looked round and took count of all the ex dubs, not including children, the evidence and the realization hit me right there and then that he made this happen. We were there all under the same roof to witness Mark and Gail dedicate their lives to God and Christ.

I D'ad six months ago after much struggling and finding reasons to stay in. You can find something wrong in every religion but the things I found wrong in this one just kept stacking up on top of each other and I realized it wasnt where I wanted to be. I then took advantage of the fact that I could still associate with other dubs to try and pass on what I knew about the society and their erroneous teachings. I managed to get my mum out because of it.. My husband was DF on 21st of jan this year so we,re all fresh out of the org. but we all agree its the best thing we've ever done. The shunning can be hard to cope with especially from family members and you will go through a whole host of emotions; guilt , anger, happiness, relief, guilt , anger, happiness, relief.......but be assured the happiness and relief will take over. If you are convinced that you are not in the true religion , then why stay within their ranks as a vote in support of them and everything they stand for and are responsible for. We are much happier as a family and much more relaxed in our day to day life. It is a rollercoaster but You will make the right decision for you. Just remember- More than a 1000 times does God tell us in the Bible not to be afraid. SO DON'T BE AFRAID !

NO MANNERS !
by iknowall558 inanyone noticed how the act of shunning is accompanied by a lack of manners and sense of human decency ?

no but there was an EX dub up here on weeks visit who used to go to hall, mother still active, who last year started praying for everyone she remembered by name to come out of org. When her mum told her about the exodus of all of us she burst into tears and couldnt stop crying. She went to KBC cos her mum told her thats where mark and gail go. she was looking for them and us when someone told her that M and G were at Riverside. She rushed across to witness it and see us all. A pretty amazing coincidence. Once she goes will tell you who it is, her mum will throw her out if she says she went to church.

I know ....so you,re lying on the ground then . saw mark and gail getting baptized today. Met people who have said they've been praying for all of us at the local KH for the past few years. Do you think their prayers were answered? I looked around the church today and counted 12 ex JWs not including children, 9 of which were from the local KH. would have bin 10 if you were there.
