as per the article below, obviously one of his victims told the elders that they had been molested and obviously the elders did nothing about it.

I already saw this being discussed on a JW discussion site. Most of the comments were JWs questioning the genuinness of this story based on the fact that it was reported in a tabloid/red top newspaper. Some even said that if this guy was guilty of doing this then he couldnt have been a genuine JW or that the facts had been exaggerated and twisted. At the same time, there were posts littered throughout the page about the Child Abuse scandal within the Catholic Church. They all had something to say about that.

My Memorial Tonight
by jookbeard ini sat in the car with some trepidation and minor nerves and walked the 200 yards to the k/h on this damp dreary night.
i was a bit early and was greeted pleasantly by a hall attendant who shook my hand an asked my name, as i walked inside to my surprise i recognized 3 of the brethren, one was a guy who was a reasonably good pal who dated a friend of mine all those years back, he exchanged glances and he blanked me, the others were a middle aged couple who were sat a few rows in front of me but no eye contact was made, i proceeded to sit down and another 2 sisters greeted me, so in the space of about 10 mins a grand total of 4 people have made the big effort to say hi.
the opening song commenced and the sister next to me kindly offered me her songbook.

Advice on how to shed your worldly friends.

i'm living in the dorms at college right now, yes it's not the best situation for me.
i made a few friends when i arrived, but they weren't the best people even though some say they are religious, ...(they've been baptised but they don't show it).

Yes...this is how most on here feel. Its the 'Watchtower' teachings and not the 'Bible's' that cause the JWs to act in an 'unchristian' manner. They are obliged to follow their teachings even when it doesnt match scripture. The results are plain to see.
