something very serious has happened on the london underground, there's conflicting reports as to what actually has happened, but it's serious enough to have closed the entire underground network.
radio 5 is going continuously on this, and i think it's on the tv too.. whatever's happened, it doesn't look good.. ig.

I'm only posting back on this thread because I can't bear leaving freak as the last poster on it.
I have a Dutch friend who's staying in England at the moment, and she commented on how calm and collected the people in London were today. Hope anyone stuck in london earlier today has managed to make it home.

i have watched with sheer amazement all day the work of the emergency services; their sheer dedication and professionalism and skill will no doubt prevent & reduce the further prospect of fatalities....i think they deserve a huge round of applause...if ever i have had opportunity to be patriotic it is now.... what do you think?.

Police are saying six explosions, the situation is being gradually brought under control but people in london should stay where they are, mainly because the london transport network isn't functioning at the moment.
The police and emergency services are working to their emergency plans, they're well prepared and trained to deal with exactly this sort of incident.

Yes, it's all over the news (radio&tv, I'm at home today). I hope you hear from your friends soon, but the mobile and terrestrial telephone network is probably overloaded, so they're probably ok but you just won't be able to get through to them for a while. Try not to panic matey.
