My Dad Died Today

he has been ill for some time, but it was still unexpected.

he was never a jw and i didn't really have a close relationship with him, since he remarried after my parents divorced.

i reunited with him in the mid 90's after over 10 years of not seeing him.. .

RANDY WATTER'S DAD JUST DIED

randy watters, owner of freeminds.org father just died a couple of hours ago from pneumonia and alzheimers.

he was 86 years old.

as randy has been tireless in his efforts to help countless people come out of the wts, i would like to express my sincere condolences to him at this time.. .

I just want to say how much I hate the f***ing cult

i posted here a few times some months back about my jw bf, and i'm glad i did because i was on the fence about the whole thing.

i had to stop because the nature of his profession might have brought him here, and the details i had given it wouldn't have taken much to figure out who i was talking about.

i still lurk though, daily.. i hate this.

Being female, being treated as a second class entity is pretty crappy. My Mom, being a fighter, was always fighting with the Elders. As a result, my sis and I were pariahs in the cong. So was my Mom. (Dad was DFd and they got divorced when I was a young teen).

Going door-to-door every Saturday and most Sunday afternoons, when you just need to clean your house, go to the mall, get your errands done, etc., starts to take it's toll. Also, when your husband starts to diss your opinions because he is programmed to do that because you are a woman and not to be listened to, well, it starts to get on your nerves.

Since you have been out in the world and understand that women are equal to men and shouldn't wear Burquas, get ready to basically put one on. It goes beyond wearing a dress three times a week to meetings and out in service.

Read about women *Being in Subjection*. Those are key words. For any woman who has gained equality in the work force or education and you walk into a KH and realize that a window washer or janitor is trying to tell you that you are basically dirt with the brain of a Cow (Watchtower from the 1960's) and not as smart, well, you realize that they are a bunch of misogynistic assholes.

And in a major Cult. That is key. Cults are hard to get out of.

Welcome Confuzzled. I am very sorry for your situation.

Being a born-in and having family still in the Cult, I understand. I just spoke with my Mom this morning and yesterday and I had to lay down yesterday and take a nap and just zone out. I wanted to bang my head on the wall after talking with her. Most of our conversation was JW related and why I won't go back and my fighting with her on why I won't. ERRRR, ARRRRGGGHHH.

I sent her the Crisis of Conscience book and she read it and declared it Apostate and evil. (sigh). Trying to get those tentacles out of their heads is, as you are finding, almost impossible.

Please keep reading here. Do not get involved with those mind bending Cultists. It seems easy to say "I won't get sucked in", yet, look at Katie Holmes and others who become Stepford Wives for their husbands, all in the name of *love*.

oh my heavens what a joy it would be to line up all the runners and tell half of the americans - the vast majority of those who actually live on their social security, that they want to take it away.

abolish it.

Hmmm, given the horsepower of a Prius and my current car, I might as well go with a horse-drawn buggy. I'm not going electric unless it's a Tesla.

Perhaps the Amish way isn't so bad. I wouldn't have to shave my legs or armpits and would really save on other beauty treatments. And, I have been trying to grow out my hair. Longer does seem better.
