cant the elders make it so that any deviation or any thought could be considered "loose conduct" and therefore a disfellowshipping offense?

"but the take the blue one and the only promise we can make is to show you the truth."
yes, indeed. Go from witnesses proclaiming they have the truth to non witnesses proclaiming it...
end of animal farm anyone? -

Should I go to the elders about the affair?
by weeone ini am a sister that kind of "fell away" from the organization.
i felt that i wasn't accepted by my brothers and sisters (long, long story).
whatever i did i wasn't "perfect" enough.

yeah, regardless of the issues with the organization, you did commit adultery -- and by almost any guidebook, thats pretty skankworthy.

Visit from Pioneers
by QuestioningEverything inso, my husband and i are 'faders/inactive' and have been for some time.
we live in another city about 60 miles from both sides our family.
his parents and my mom are very active in the congregation in their area (they live in the same city).

calling on inactive ones is an activity strictly initiated by the elders, not pioneers.

that sucks...
even worse, why the heck do witnesses insist on going out in service on holidays? In our old cong, we never did that... -

well, this isnt about me -- but i have been out of the truth a while now. I certainly have NOT wasted my life, and would not trade my witness experience for anything. It has helped me overcome alot in my life, things i have retained even being out of the organization. My friends love me unconditionally. -- they just think its the loving thing not to talk to me -- its strange and i think the org needs refinement there, but my friends certainly love me.

i dont agree with all of your statement -- The witnesses I know live very interesting lives. As a matter of fact, when i lived as a witness, my life was filled with alot of cool things. I am a musician, and i cant even count how many other witness musicians ive played with, on all sorts of different music, not just kingdom songs. overall, the witness life is full of experiences and friendship. It brought me alot of joy. I am not sure if i want to go back, but at least this part is true.
however, yes, tehre is no provision for those that are irregular or df'ed (of course) for any sort of social activity. They are indeed focused on the active members of the congregation, for better or worse. -

regardless of how you feel about the organization --
you did something "wrong" by those standards -- and those are the standards you agreed to when you entered no? It would be easy to say, well thats hypocritical then -- but in a more loving perspective -- you would lose all of the brothers and sisters you may be fond of -- then again, you said you arent getting attention from them anyway, so maybe you dont care...
if you dont care about the people you may leave behind -- i say, face the music and disassociate yourself. Send them a letter, and give them no reason why. It isnt there business if you dont want it to be. -

i think the witnesses have a firm grip of the truth - but they are not there yet.
keep in mind, the apostles didnt know "the truth" right away, it took them alot of time to get "the light" so to speak.
there is no other religion like the witnesses --- you must judge your experience for yourself, by what you see in front of you, by the actions of those in the organization, not by accusations that could possibly be unfounded.
im sure this will be taken out of context, but i will also say:
there ARE some things that desperately need changing. I have been disfellowshipped, and people call disfellowshipped ones "unrepentant sinners" -- im not sure if that is in any recent articles, but i heard a comment given where a sister said this, and it broke my heart. My sins are over with -- i made my mistake, and repented. I am NOT an unrepentant sinner. My experience with people and priveleges in the organization has been wonderful -- and i believe that is because God is indeed guiding them - and hopefully they will continue to listen, and although they can be stubborn, like the "sons of thunder" -- and i have had some hurtful experiences, i believe they are at least most of the way there ;)
One thing to be careful here -- take the advice given by people here, do not let everything out right away. Pray about it, and do what you must. And the same goes for posting messages here. Adhere to the rules, and dont make any outlandish claims of freedom of speech, or you will find yourself "disfellowshipped" from this forum, unable to return.
