Witness at new job
by berylblue ini was in a team meeting today at work with a man who is a jw.
i found out because i heard someone say he doesn't celebrate birthdays; i kept my eyes open and of course, in his desk drawer was "examining the scriptures".
well, at the meeting, one of my coworkers said, "i have four children, two girls, a boy and my husband".. he blurts out, "that's not funny.

No one I knew would talk about dates but the generation thing was strong and some would talk about 1975 marking 6000 years since adams creation. The end of Gods creative day was the creation of Eve. So the realy big question on everyones mind was "How long was adam alone in the garden of Eden befor God made a helper.
About the same time the Watchtower can out that predicted the end "before the turn of the century" (which was changed in reprints to "this generation")

Stories were being told of congregations growing so quickly they split several times, only had a MS as the PO and there was standing room only at the public talks. Building KH's was the emphasis - Congs of 20 - 40 pubishers were building 250 seat KH's - How many of those halls are empty now?

this guy turned up at sigle womens houses quite often.

here was a new killer virus that didn't have a cure and people feared it could be passed on cups, on seats, by shaking hands, by coughing and sneezing and so on.. it turns out that it couldn't and while there is still no cure, the infection rate is actually relatively low.
it takes 2 years for an aids victim to infect someone else.. now we have sars, everything changes.

Aids kills every one it infects eventually 100% mortality So far about 25% of those who have been infected with the SARS virus have recovered.
It takes two years before you see any symptoms with aids making it spread silently. Aids was also confined initially to narrow “behaviour” groups like IV Drug Addicts, Homosexuals, prostitutes etc
While the numbers are relatively low the health system can cope and patients get relatively good care but as the number “Exponentially” increases the health systems around the world will be overwhelmed. There just won’t be a health system available for most people, increasing the likely death rate.
Personally I like the bubble idea
