  the nato alliance has pledged support with the us, a terrorist attack against one is an attack against all.. the ira is largely funded by its well honed and sentimental campaigns in the us that generate $100,000s among the 78,000,000 people of irish descent who live there.

  this cash is used to train its terrorists in libya and other middle eastern states, establish a network of mafia style activities in ni, including prostitution, protection scams and above all drug trading.

  the ira are said to have upward of 200 sleeper cells operating around the world at any one time.. the protestants themselves have little to be proud of either, producing a generation of christian fanatics who have openly discussed the possibility of concentration camps for catholics while turning drive-by shootings into an art form.. what will happen the next time an ira bomb kills a uk soldier, or the uff/uda shoots out some teenagers kneecaps or ankles in the shankill rd?.

  Hello,

  The point is, that the US by solidifying the 'one-for-, all-for one, pact with NATO must by its own edict react when the sovereignty of the UK is attacked by the IRA, a terrorist group largely funded by US citizens and almost exclusively trained by Islamic fundamentalists.

  Can the President afford to isolate the prospective Irish vote by fulfilling his own rules of 'war'? - hardly likely. Is this a case of the Two And A Half Musketeers....again! It seems so.

  I mentioned in another post recently, the naiveté of US foreign policies, and the historical stupidity of the US foreign diplomatic corps in understanding the thinking of anything that does not come John Wayne shaped. The hole that the US has dug for itself with this NATO alliance, which certainly suits European aims, will be filled with some embarrassed faces before the war is won.

  I love the US and it's people, its politicians however, are once again being played like fiddles by their international counterparts.

  My advice to Presidents, never bite off more than you can chew, even if you are hungry.

  Hello,

  Let me illustrate the point I am trying to make regarding the cultural and ideological differences between Western and Eastern thinking and how ignorance of these differences harms both camps.

  The Afghanis are refusing to hand over Osama bin Laden. The US are insisting that he must be handed over or else they will take him by force, or destroy him in the attempt. To a strict Muslim, and most Muslims are strict in devotion however much they claim to be moderates, the act of handing this man to ‘infidels’ is an impossibility for them to accept theologically. It would contravene one of the most fundamental doctrines of Islamic law, that of showing hospitality to strangers - remember, not a choice to them religiously but an edict. Imagine saying to one of the GB, unless you force one of your people to drink this cup of blood, we will kill you all. There is very little difference in application. The Afghanis will not hand the man over because they cannot hand him over under Islamic law. Even the Pakistanis and Saudis, despite their veneer of posturing would not hand him over if he were to slip over the border, they do want him in their own nation, because they would then have to face this huge doctrinal problem.

  The US consistently fails in its Foreign Policies to understand the thinking of its enemies. Mossad could attend to bin Laden very quickly, but they are enjoying seeing the Arab world in confrontation with the West. Why? Because they understand the thinking of the Arab mind, they recognize the inability of the Eastern mind to accept the voluntary presentation of a Muslim to a Christian as a 'sacrificial goat'. They have the best intelligence in the world, perhaps only bettered by the French. Israel is well aware of what it will gain from a US sabre in the Middle East.

  Many agendas are playing out right now, and I fear that the US is playing the part of the patsy. They need to allow these proud and rigid people a way to save face while developing their own goals. This can only be achieved through a bright diplomatic service. Unfortunately clued in diplomats have never been the strength of US Foreign Policy, most seem not to be able to get John Wayne out of their minds, at least, until the body bags begin to appear in numbers that are unacceptable.

  To an Arab, to die as a soldier for Islam is the highest privilege possible, to a Westerner to die for his country is an acceptable evil...for a good cause...and for a short war….well, up to a point!

  perhaps you recall the instance in the bible where samson made a wager with the philistines that they couldnt guess his riddle.

  as it turned out they wheedled the answer out of him by his fiancee, but the point is that they had a wager.

  since the underlying assumption of the apostasy is that we are not living in the last days of this system of things, and that this world is not facing anything remotely like the biblical apocalypse, at least not any time soon, in the spirit of such antagonism, i would like to propose a similar wager.

  You note:

  I've been watching the news and listening to the talk radio shows and I agree with every word Farkel says.

  Of course, the news and talk radio shows in Palestine, Iran etc. would be providing their own evidence that the Western world are the barbarians and infidels deserving of death. Without truly understanding the culture, a person will never truly understand the problem.

  Therein lies the issue, this is not a matter of national borders but ideologies. The Western world is 3,000 years apart in thinking from the Islamic world and never the twain shall meet. If this scenario is your definition of barbarism, then you might be oversimplifying the matter a little. Neither side of this problem has much to be proud of in the way that they have defended their given ideolgies the past few hundred years.

  This recent disgusting blood letting in NYC is just the surface of a deep, dark well.

  An agenda is the menu of politics.

  Having traveled in the Middle East I have a degree of sympathy with you at the Palestinian plight. An unhappier situation for them at this moment in time, it would be harder to imagine. As you know over the centuries, these two arch-enemies, Islam and Judaism, have developed an ideology that precludes any possibility of peace between them, rather like the Protestants and Catholics in NI.

  The problem lies with the Islamic agenda. The PLO have publicly admitted on numerous occasions that they will not live side by side with the Jews. They have vowed by any means to either displace or destroy the Jews and have the backing of almost all the Arab states and peoples in this ultimate goal. Why do they wish to do this? Exclusively due to a religious ideology which has as its final aim world ‘conversion’ by any means. The battle against Judaism and its sympathisers is just stage one in World conquest.

  The Jews however, have no intention of converting to their own form of religion the rest of humanity, especially not by force, but this clearly is the goal of Islam. If the Arabs were as well trained and armed as the Jewish state they would destroy Israel completely and have made no secret of their intentions that this is their ultimate prize. So one has to ask themselves, do the Jews have a right to defend themselves vigorously given the clear and sinister intentions of their neighbors?

  Read transcripts of the communications between the Nazi party and Arab states before and during WWII and you will see their clear intention was to aid the Nazis in the international destruction of every Jew and Jewish sympathiser.

  As to the point made in Farkel’s post describing ‘Arabs are barbarians’ , well just a cursory study of the history of Islamic art and culture would undermine this viewpoint quite quickly. What has to be said is that Islam is impossible to comprehend unless it is understood against the backdrop of its own tribal history, a sustained ethic which it has never really outgrown since its early history and which is now clearly under threat.

  The C21st is the enemy of Islam. Its religious leaders realize that ‘tribal’ Islam is doomed as we move further into a technological culture, no precept is contained in Islam which allows for a modernizing of its doctrine. Their clear agenda is to demonize anything that is attached this ‘modernistic’ enemy, destroy its ability to reproduce and subsequently safeguard Islamic culture. It is fighting a losing battle, but a battle that will see much more grieving and pain. One thing is certain, a truce will not happen unless hearts change and the experience of history precludes that one happening - the better armed will win the day.

  our forum's now chapter likes to slander christian believers over alleged poor treatment of women.

  in truth, the bible advanced women's rights in the ancient world, even in a paternalistic society.

  here are the results of research into this topic.. num 5.12--the trial of bitter waters (sotah) is a an amazing provision by god for a woman to publicly clear her name (and indict a dysfunctional husband in the process).

  Why do you always sound as if you are trying to convince yourself with your own arguments?

  If your faith is valid just be happy with that. Why bother provoking situations where you are forced to defend your beliefs, when ultimately you do neither the Bible nor yourself any justice in the way that you defend them.

  Sarcasm and personal insult, are really very cheap debating tools and do not win arguments, they actually divert them. Your frequent descent into their use undermines the essence of your own claim, that is, that you worship a God of Love, who you might recall is displeased even if a 'rotten expression' excudes from the lips of one of his followers....remember?

  A little more gentleness will buy a lot more understanding.
