...because he was shown that way in representations of him that are older then traditional effeminate looking pictures..." {having a beard is not so effeminate may refer to long hair}.
If they could get away with it, they's have illustrations of Jesus giving talks in a Kingdom Hall.
I seem to recall a recent illustration in the publications showing first century christians going out in the door to door work with scrolls in hand.
Didn't know whether to laugh or cry the way their modern activities are fictitiously shown to have Biblical precedence.

several people were shot saturday at a grocery store in tucson, arizona, a spokesman for the pima county sheriff's department said.. the shooting occurred at a safeway shortly after 10 a.m. mst, according to sheriff's spokesman deputy jason ogan.. a couple of victims with gunshot wounds have arrived at northwest medical center, according to spokesman richard parker.. "they've been coming in the last 10 minutes.
i'm not sure of the severity of their injuries," he said.. ogan said the motive for the shooting is unclear.. "we're just trying to sort this out right now," he said.. .
Palin, O'Reilly, Limbaugh, Beck, and Coulter all enjoy fanning the flames of hatred with their vile rhetoric.
Just because someone is deemed "insane" when they act upon what they hear does not excuse the hatemongers from responsibility.
Rather, it just proves undeniably that these shock jocks are a danger to our society and should no longer be tolerated.

if you decide not to continue telling your story, that is totally understandable to me after the comments from yesidid and dontplaceliterature.
however, the majority of us would love to hear the rest of it and i think you would love (even need) to write it.

I rarely agree with Farkel when it comes to politics. But I still like him, especially his sense of humor. I would absolutely love to hear the rest of his story.
i once read an excellent history of the battle of the bulge.
it pointed out that hitler took a huge gamble because he knew his forces would be ground down otherwise by advancing allies.
he saw what was coming and rolled the dice............. which may explain what the governing body of jehovah's witnesses is doing: demanding loyalty, attacking college, and trying to intensify shunning.. on the surface, growth looks ok but i believe these numbers are a self deceiving illusion.

Let's see... I was born in... baptized at 16... regular auxiliary pioneered for over a year... ministerial servant at 19...
my father told me the end was so close I would never graduate high school... that was over 20 years ago...
research says that C.T. Russell thought the end would come in 1874... J.F. Rutherford said King David would live in his house in 1925... the Society later pointed to 1975 as the end...
pretty soon you add it all up and realize it's just plain bullsh*t...
i attended a recent ministerial servant k m school on the east coast and the main school instructor mentioned among other things (part entitled: 'objective of the km school course') that the total number of ministerial servants is seriously less than it should be.
in times past the ratio of m ss to elders was much more than it is today.. in the u.s. apparently the total number of elders is 88,500+ as opposed to m ss 65,000. the numbers show & numbers don't lie: the society is running out of spiritual men.
the instructor stated that this is a new downward trend that has (in so many words) the society worried.. the next speaker (part entitled: 'why we must be spiritual men') added that in his years as a traveling servant the pool of m ss has always been much, much larger than it is today.
I watched my Dad waste a lot of time working on talks for the WT Society.
It made me realize it wasn't something I wanted to repeat myself.
