Funny you should say that...because we just had a party for the Circuit Overseer for all the hard work him and is wife has done. We rented a hall and had a big party, and it cost quite a bit. Nothing was special about it, apparently this congregation has been doing it for years, Ive only been in this cong for 10 months. First time Ive ever seen this.

I had an Oral Sex is bad shepherding call about 8 months ago, because it says so in the Insight in the Scriptures. Im really glad that happened as it spurred me to find this site. Oh im also very glad my wife and I have decided to reject that counsel as they couldnt find a decent Biblical reason for it - frankly its none of their business.
Edumacation is bad, I went to college for 3 years.
Meeting Attendance...I have for the most part withdrawn from the TMS. - Ive been counseled on it several times now, you know the scripture. `do not be forsaking the gathering of ourselves`. - Still hasnt gotten through.

If you did die, at least your family can go to Walmart and save some money buying stuff for the funeral. Plus, if you keep your receipt from when you purchased the valve stems, your family can return the defective ones and get their money back.

I think what you are all forgetting is that Walmart is owned by China, just think about all those minimum wage jobs China is creating at Wal-Mart. If anything we should be thankful to China.

When it comes to giving men authority, you need to ask, what real qualifications do they have in the first place.
Definetely what I was thinking. What qualities do they have that can take on that role.
I have found that Elders who take control in their own lives, including their relationships, tend to not control other people. But when there is an Elder whose wife clearly lays down the law in the household, that Elder will abuse his authority over others in the congrgation.

Do You Care If You Hurt A JWs Feelings?

that's not typical of most here.
when we do get a witness on here, at times we beat them up, so to speak, because of the anger we might have toward those that support the religion.. i find myself even telling my mom, whom i respect very much, where the dog died and looking back, i think i sound harsh (but brutally honest).. how do you treat jehovah's witnesses at this point in your life?.

Your absolutely right, we claim to adhere to that scripture, and Im sure there is a fraction that do, as it relates to apostates.
Jesus said to love our neighbor as ourselves, one of the two laws that everything hangs on. Its unfortunate that the GB has made that decision to treat people who have not necessarly left the faith, but have left some of the banquet food at the restaurant and not in their bellys.
I completely hear you, I hate the fact that some of my friendships in the congregation are completely dependant on me still being in the org. Doesent seem right, and it shouldnt be like that.
I dont personally subscribe to the Disfellowshiping teaching, I subscribe mostly to what the Bible says on how we should treat our neighbor. Thanks.

Condescending Style of the book Keep Yourselves in God's Love

i read a page or so from the book, and the first thing i notices is the simple language used that sounds like it is written to be read by a little child who is in elemenatary school.. the styel if very condescending and actually is insulting as if the reader is expected to have a very low level of intelligence or reading ability.. what is going on?
why is bethel printing such material?.

Yeah I noticed in the second paragraph of Chapter 4 where it says that we have to show respect for people that have authority over us, then gives a scripture, Proverbs 24:21 as proof, unfourtunately that scripture relates to the Davidic kings. But if you were just a regular guy that didnt know any better you would have to assume that the`"King" mentioned in that verse is now the WTBS. Then it goes on to say "to remain in Gods love" - theres the carrot. The rest of the chapter keeps on saying the same thing in 15 different ways.
"To remain in Jehovahs Love, you must accept dicipline, and be obedient to those taking the lead." - the elders.
I see what you are talking about, I dont particulary like that paragraph, but it dosent mean the book is a waste of paper. I suppose you have to look at it in a balanced way.

OK.....Dont get the wrong idea here...im not superior by any means. But Finally-Free you quoted Mathew 7:12. Jesus said this in a positive manner and it refers to the "Golden Rule" in Levitcus 19:18. Where is says "You shall love your neighbor as yourself". So by the you presented your reply, you sound very negative, please correct me if Im wrong.
At any rate It pleases me to hear that you Love Jehovahs Witnesses as yourself.
