i knew a girl who got married at 19 despite objections from the elders , they got disfellowshipped and reinstated after 18 months , he chose her clothes and would not allow her any money , he insisted on doing the food shopping with her , he hit her if tea was not on the table when he returned from work , he broke her nose once when she was holding her 2 year old child , when she approached the elders , onesaid to her "what are you complaining about ,he hasnt broke every bone in your body , there are sisters who put up with much worse ! if a jw man is not supposed to be violent why would they not give him a telling off ?

i'm starting to realize that the anger i feel at this religion seems to feed on itself.
soon, i will be tried for my 'crimes' by men who honestly don't believe themselves to be policemen.

my heart goes out to you in your pain, i have been there and i can assure you no matter how bad you feel n ow , things can get better even though you wont believe it at the moment . you have to be brave and try to think straight even though you may feel you are going insane at times , try to look to the future and what good things may lay ahead for you , look for fulltime work , you will meet more people and you may need to move out , but always be ther for your daughter .

Elders who step down for little or no reason?
by Truthexplorer inwithin the past decade, two elders stepped down in my old congregation.
actually one was taken off for commiting adultery and therefore reproved, but the other one simply stepped down for no apparent reason.
also, in another congregation i used to attend for a short time, i was shocked to hear of another elder stepping down, again for no apparent reason.. i am wondering if there has been an increase in the number of elders stepping down for no obvious reason and to see if this is a worrying trend causing alarm for the society.. i am thinking the past 10 years, particularly with the internet being available to so many people around the world today; but have you experienced many elders stepping down in your congregation or past congregation?

i know of an elder (my father in law ) who stepped down and stopped attending meetings over 10 years ago after his sonwas disfellowshipped for an affair with me , a few months back he told my hubby not to come to his house anymore as it was "difficult "for his jw wife and kids who felt guilty ! as far as we know he still does not attend meetings . i know of two others who stepped down for anxiety problems and one because he had feelings for me which made him feel guilty but he obviously didnt give that reason at the time . i think all elders would have a good reason for stepping down ,but it would not nesacarilly be the reason they give to the cong and fellow elders

my daughter was abused by a ex dub,and wants to be a "do not call "
by looloo inif she wrote a letter to a local elder ,who still chats to her if he sees her without mentioning "truth" or court case stuff and asked to be made a "do not call " as she would not want her abusers wife (who stood by her husband !
) knocking on her door talking of "the truth" or the perps brothers and sisters who also stood by him (despite knowing he had abused girls before ,weirdos !
) do you think callers would be stopped ?

if she wrote a letter to a local elder ,who still chats to her if he sees her without mentioning "truth" or court case stuff and asked to be made a "do not call " as she would not want her abusers wife (who stood by her husband !) knocking on her door talking of "the truth" or the perps brothers and sisters who also stood by him (despite knowing he had abused girls before ,weirdos !) do you think callers would be stopped ? i think the local elders are embaressed about the situation as had the perp been reported to police when a min servant , my daughter would never have met him at the hall (he was later disfellowshipped for an affair ) she has moved into a new address with her boyfriend and her very first visitors were jehovahs witnesses and it really upset her as the jw "talk " reminds her of her abuser who constantly talked of "the truth" and how wicked the world was in his grooming process (despite being disfellowshipped by then ) she also does not want my mother in law and her son and daughter round acting false when they do not bother with my 6 year old child (their grandchild and neice ) however she would not want her abusers wife to know her address , any thoughts ? my daughter was never baptised and neither was i .

by looloo inafter watching a recent documentry on "the final solution" i saw adolf hitler in some huge venue with thousands present public speaking and the crowd were mesmerised and full of praise for him judging by the response he got from them and the applause , i thought back to assemblies when people gave a similar reaction when in affect they were being told millions had to die to make the world a better place for them to live in and nobody seemed bothered by this (except me) and i even thought back then ,that something was not quite right , there was even a mention of a thousand year reign by the third reich , i thought that sounded familiar !
did anyone else think this or do i think weird things ?.
