my daughter was abused by an ex min servant age 13 , she is now 22 and has been with her loving caring boyfriend for a year (he is her 1st boyfriend ) over the years she has been bulimic ,self harmed and suffered low self esteem , i thought she had got better since the relationship with her boyfriend started , i found out yesterday that she is no better at all and im frightened for her , her boyfriend said "that bastard haunts her" she suffers flashbacks and post traumatis stress disorder , due to the horrific things the abuser did and said to her , which i cant bare to go into detail about as i try to block it out my mind , unfortunatly my poor girl cannot ! she has had a lot of help by a psyciatrist , counsellor etc but is no better so what can i do to help ? have any of you been in this situation ? does it get better with time ? its been 7 years now and i feel it will be a life sentence for her , have any of you been abused and been able to move on ? i need to know there is a light at the end of the tunnel . i feel like murdering him today as he does not give a damn about the damadge he has caused (he was 43 and she was 13 ) he was my best friends husband and my "friend" she has no trust of anyone , should i try hyponosis ? im scared she wont be able to cope and end up having a breakdown , she has been doing part time work in phsiciatric unit and was put on a mens ward where she was told to do one on one care with a man who has scitzaphrenia and does innappropriate sexual things and to ring her buzzer if he tried to touch her !she broke down and said she could nt put herself at risk and why , now she feels it will always haunt her and she cant cope . please help with advice

im scared of flying and thinking of hypnosis!

i agree , its so pointless, your sisters point about the purse rminded me of a sister who was talking to me in town one day about the fact that her purse had been pinched at an assemblyShe said "my mother said to me i should have beEn morE carefull becausea lot of worldly people attend assemblys ! " i was so insulted as i was an ex study ,therefore a "worldly person" i said "excuse me i would not have dreamed of stealing your purse ,and as we both know , there are jws who have done a lot worse than steal your purse ! (her underage sister had been raped by the same man that had raped my daughter ) so she still hadnt learned that not all jws are trustworthy , give up ! (sorry about the mistakes , im kneeling on the floor typing this at the desk , as i have a bad back )

by looloo inthe jws had obviously , just called , wish i had answered the door ,i looked through the awake and on page 20 , it refers to if you make criminals your companians ,you are more likely to end up one , or words to that affect !
so in the publics version they use the term "criminals " and i presume the jw only (koolaid)version the word "criminal"is replaced with anyone who is not a jw !
how misleading this cult is , dont the jws ever compare the public and koolaid versions and see how misleading they are ?

by looloo ini watched a remake of the 1960s show "the prisoner" on saturday night , it was really good but i got a bit of de ja vu !
it reminded me of dubby land , with unquestioning obediance , nothing else out there !

Did leaving the WT build greater appreciation for or kill your reading of the Bible?
by lepermessiah ini am really on the fence on this issue right now and would love some opinions.. i find that i dont sit down and read the bible for long periods since becoming inactive, but on the other hand, individual scriptures mean much more to me now.. i will sit down and look up some favorite passages from time to time and feel like its the first time i really "got it" - without the jw goggles on.
i love matthew chapter 23, since i think it describes to a tee the situation in jw congregations.
i think if jesus returned today, he would blast the elders and "leaders" of the borg in a similar fashion (along with most religious leaders) .matthew 24 is actually more interesting to me now, simply because my whole life was waiting for the 1914 generation to end sometime during the reagan era!

who had a child molester in their congregation ?
by looloo ini have done this thread a long time ago , but a few newbies have joined recently and may have had some experiances to share , there was 2 in the congregation i was involved with (i was a "study" ) one was from bethel in america and got deported after his prison sentence and the other was reprooved for abuse then carried on abusing in the congregation , years later he abused my daughter and after i found out i reported him to the police , but he had got off "scot free" for 20 years untill i reported him .
i believe the one from bethel was reported to the police simply because elders kids were affected ..
