  transfusion and eating no difference?.

  today i added a new article to my blog addressing what watchtower says in public view about transfusion versus eating compared to what it admits in private about transfusion and eating.

  its short and sweet, and of course documented.

  you used a reference from a publication nearly THIRTY years old, and secondly the letter stated what is obvious to all JW's. Tranfusion is obviously not the same thing as literally ingesting blood orally

  Regarding what Ethos said about a 30 year old publication my question is, did the truth change in the last 30 years. The illustration mentioned below has been in many bible study aid books through out the years. The illustration leads one to believe that blood just as alcohol would provide caloric nourishment to the body and this is just not true.

  I was the elder that the letter Marvin posted was written too. It was in response to a letter I wrote to the society concerning many things about blood fractions and why ones conscience could justify using some parts of blood but not others. In my letter, I told the society that the illistration used in the knowledge book where a doctor tells a patient to abstain from alcohol and the question is asked whether transfusing alcohol would be OK with the doctor. I stupidly used this illustration once when witnessing to a doctor and he quickly shut me down by telling me that it is not even close to being the same thing.

  14 Certain eagles are reported to have drowned when they did not release from their talons a fish that was too heavy to carry off. Could something similar happen to a Christian? “I’m normally very thrifty,” explains an elder named Alex. “If I pour out a little too much shampoo, I put some back in the bottle.” Nevertheless, Alex got caught up in trading in the stock market, thinking he could soon quit his job and enter the pioneer service. He became ever more engrossed in studying various offerings and market reports. Using his savings and money borrowed from brokers, he bought stocks that analysts predicted would quickly rise in value. Instead, they dropped sharply. “I was determined to get my money back,” Alex relates. “I felt that if I just held on, the stocks would come back up.”

  15 For months, Alex could think of little else. He found it difficult to focus on spiritual matters, and he lost sleep. But the stocks never rebounded. Alex lost his savings and had to sell his house. “I caused my family great pain,” he admits. But he learned an important lesson. “I now know that anyone who puts his trust in Satan’s system will be profoundly disappointed.” (Prov. 11:28) Indeed, resting our hope on our savings, investments, or ability to earn money in this system amounts to resting our hope on “the god of this system,” Satan. (2 Cor. 4:4; 1 Tim. 6:17) Alex has since simplified his life “for the sake of the good news.” He will tell you that doing so has made him and his family happier and has drawn them closer to Jehovah.—Read Mark 10:29, 30.

  I like the illistration of the eagle and I think we could apply this to the Society hanging on to the money they owe to Candice Conti.

  I was surprised they used the example of investing in the stock market because the Watchtower invests in the stock market

  i stumbled upon this site and told my sister about it.

  then, sometime later she started discussing things with me that's she has seen or read (she's in therapy, as well, which probably has made her kind of rethink things).

  Welcome, left in the cold. If you get reinstated which is usually a long and arduous project you might find that friends you thought you had will only be friends if you make advancement in the congregation. Once you start to fade you will be looked at as if you've DA'd and your conditional friends will no longer be your friends.

  Forget about them. Put this all behind you. There is life after Jdubbery. Be patient, you will find friends and a life

  Bible Teach Artwork Change for 2012

  did anyone else notice the artwork change on page 12 and on page 83?

  im new to this and cannot get the pictures to upload....but if you have a copy of the book and compare it with the pdf online, there is definitely a change.. what qould cause them to to this?.

  i would be interesting to see if there were any changes to the wording of the paragraphs.

  I don't think the watchtower is that organized or interested in tracing the identities of individuals on this site. Your probably safe on any computer you use unless of course you are a high up like a CO or DO or GB member.

  on the jw.org site, look at the 2/1/2012 public wt, page 27 of the pdf...section 4"how are jehovah's witnesses organized today".

  if anybody noticed, i mentioned i thought that no mention of 'faithful and discreet slave' possibly since 2010 in the public placed wt's.

  i've read all of them backtracking to 2/1/2012 so far, and so far, my suspicion has proven true, no mention.

  the true part is that the jw community does come together at times of crisis to help each other, no critique of that.
