A matter of blood

talking to a friend, an anaesthestist at one of our major hospitals, the other day and we got talking about knee sugery.

so many people these days display the limp of people who are clearly suffering some malfunction of their knees.

for many of our generation the effects of a sporting life (look at how many females who were netballers (basketballers) are needing knee reconstructive surgery) has left its mark.. anyway, i asked him about the matter of blood loss in knee surgery with the question: "is blood needed in knee replacement surgery?

I want to share with you, that everyone who has ever had an IV administered has had a blood transfusion of their own blood (this is not blood salvaging), small but for those JWs who argue abstain means abstain...it shows they are already tainted. Yes I personally have informed the WBTS, since they remain silent I assume it means all is well.
Also consider that if you ask an Elder if there are bans on blood, they say YES
but
If you call up the WBTS on the phone, the Brother on the other end will only comment that all blood products are "a matter of conscience"
ANHs are often considered for surgeries of JWs because they can be modified to keep attached to the circulation system.

the watchtower did not wait too long to make factor viii a conscience matter for haemophiliac men.

i believe it happened inthe late 1970's but i'm sure someone would correct me if i am wrong on the date.. but, the blanket blood ban continues and women are still dying in childbirth unncecessarily around the world because they are jws.

if the boot were on the other foot, would blood transfusion be a conscience matter by now to keep jw men safe?.

Blood is banned?....
This depends on who you speak with:
Elders will say yes!
But ring the WBTS and they will tell you all medical blood is a "matter of conscience"
The fact is that once there are only JWs baptized after June 1985, the blood thing will officially become dust, since changes to the baptism questions effectively remove a persons right to sue. Until then this is falling down to the level of organ transplants.
Just a heads up, anyone who has had an IV, has had a transfusion of their own blood, abeit a small one bet as many JWs argue, abstain means abstain.

A family run KH, I have only visited one of those in Far Western Texas.
Yep it would seem to be KH politics, they saw an opening and now your fate is sealed.
I am so sorry.
My husband is originally from Hemet California, his family knows a guy named Mark Heber Miller.
I think he now has a website, google his name. His story is one of many I have heard while visiting Southern California, all of them have included backstabbing, corruption and KH politics out the wahzoo.

I cannot begin to explain the Trevorgate mess, money and more was sent. A fake death ensued, tons of deception and drama. It is still very fresh.
Just keep "active" here in posting, join the community. You are not alone, you are not the first, and sadly.....probably not the last.

The CO/ DO letter idea is a good idea.
Funny I guess since my "tribulations" started when I was a child, I never have thought of reaching out beyond my Elders. IT is good advice especially with yalls records.
If you don't want to write the letter I guess you could "hijack" the CO visit. I am ask not to attend when he comes to my hall. (WOW! I really have allowed them to put me in a box!)
( with all this thinking and new ideas.......I feel a rebellion coming on ......)

My BOE hatred has been going on for nearly 30 years now. So, it can be done, though admittedly I am growing weary, hence my membership here. I take comfort in the fact that this and other things are not just a local problem.
On a larger scale, I am saddened to report that the WTS is becoming more and more friendly with the "world", this and other "corporate" behavior is on the rise. Even I am having to contemplate that they have rejected the one they claim to be serving.
Pray, sob, meditate on the Bible's counsel
