Why should it be the other way around?
He is the one with the cinderblock.
I have to do what makes him happy.
That and I like being on top too.

How to fluster a JW at your door
by arker inmy dad put up with a lot of crap from the jw's when my mom divorced him and took us kids away.
so when he got the chance he would mess with them at the door.
my favorite question he asked 2 sisters when they came.. "if the bible says a wife is to give her husband his due, then do you have relations with your husband because you love him or because the bible says to?".

So my favorite JW pain in ass elder shows up at my door today right at lunch time.
I open the door and there he is with a younger man and a little boy.
I looked "ElderMan" in eye and said "It is not a good time".
He says "I'll just leave you these magazines then." and goes to hand them to me.
Here is the good part,,,,,
I said "No thank you" and shut the door in his face.
If he hadn't had the little kid with him I might have said more.
The shock on his face was terrific.
I feel so empowered and a little terrified. It is like I just declared war on the JWs.

"I see my family and they are so happy and blissful in their ignorance within the Org."
Are they really happy? You made everyone believe you were happy for years. You never know what is going on inside a person. They could be screaming inside.
Use the guilt to provoke yourself to do what is right for you.
I get a little turned on when my hubby and I do something a little "Naughty" and I thumb my nose at the GB and say to myself, "HHAHHAHAH you dirty old men".

Reading " Crisis of Consience", What did you Learn, How did it affect you?
by flipper inthought this would be good to discuss for the newbies and others just getting out of the witnesses, so they can have their thinking and appetites whetted of things they never knew coming out from under the witness organizations spell.
i know for myself, after reading this book, it totally clarified what the reasons were for all the control in the organization.
and i was informed of things i never had a clue that were going on behind the bethel scenes.

I like to think I am good gift giver in general. When I was an active JW, I was always careful to get my parents anniversary gifts. I started a special holiday for my kids "Boxing Day!" Mommy gets up really early and goes out and buys presents, then she sneaks them back into the house, wraps them up all fancy and we have a family party that night. We bake a cake and the kids decorate it anyway they like.
This year will be different. We are invited to join my friends family for X-mas. In fact, I am cooking the turkey for dinner. I have to admit I am really excited. I celebrated the holiday until I was 8 with my father and his parents. My kids are going to be soo excited.
My "worldly" family has never remembered my kids on any holiday or birthday. No gift sent early or with a note saying just because. I hesitate to send my grandparents pictures of the kids because they just send a cheque back. I dont' want them to only think of my babies when I remind them. I am not even going to tell them we are celebrating the holidays now because if they didn't want them before they won't want them now.
It is not just JWs who are poor gift givers.

What to do when your parents are toxic?
by Paralipomenon infrom reading people's stories and life experiences i thought i'd poll the members here for some advice.
my inlaws are extremely toxic.
i know, every person says that about their inlaws, but the way they treat their family is absolutely horrible.

I found I can save a lot by doing the weeks grocery shopping all in one trip. I make a list of the deals from each store and plan my meals accordingly.
I have discovered that we are saving approximately $30-$40 dollars a month by cutting out the little trips to the store. You go for milk and end up with muffins, bananas and milk.
I also use coupons, however I have to be careful not to buy something just because I have a coupon.
I take great pride in saving money and getting the best value for our money.
It is also a great feeling when you find an in-store special and you have money left in your budget to stock up. Remember those steaks Para?
