They didn't like the virtual beatings they got.
Not everything "we" did made it into the forums over the past decade. Most of it did not.
As to forum-visible material: I do recall finishing off some half-baked "professor" from a third-rate US university who decided to defend Furuli the Unresearcher and the evil NWT... the man claimed to be a language expert, but every fifth sentence he wrote in his mothertongue (English, he confirmed) contained some grammatical error or solecism. What odds he was any good at anything else? He soon ran off, having had enough chastisement. I remember Farkel being around to watch, and thought I'd been too cruel. Knowing Farks, that meant I should have been gentler so we'd have had more fun with the fool.

this the problem with those who focus on outrageous fantasies about the watchtower.
it distracts from the real issues that need to be highlighted.. what happened in wales was for real.

Theists, why does God allow suffering..
by The Quiet One in..specifically, the suffering of animals.
you can talk about free will/sin/people choosing to not listen to god etc to explain human suffering being allowed.. but how can you love a god that allows animals, that haven't sinned or chosen to not have anything to do with god, to have their short lives ended in often long, drawn out, painful ways.
i could list stories i've read that would probably make you feel ill, but i'm not looking to shock anyone or start an emotional debate.

Heck, I've often gone to bed with a technical problem buzzing around my head - and woken up with a solution - sometimes a correct one - right there in place.

i love hearing her side and point of view which in the past i would have dismissed as "satanic" thinking.
she has some very good questions and i am having a hard time answering them.

As a Viprous Atheist myself, I'm hardly likely to be pushing a religion. Any religion, lol. They're all bunkum, delusion, fantasy, fraud, ignorance, power/control/money oriented, nonsensical, etc. They vary mainly in the level of damage they do.
The fact remains that while Babble-idiots had timescales of a few thousands or perhaps tens of thousands of years since creation, in Hinduism they happened upon far more realistic periods (billions of years - the kalpa coincidentally equates to within 5% of the best estimates of the age of the earth). Vaguely similarly re "heavenly" distances. Coincidence plus it evolved in a more scientifically inclined environment, perhaps. And with its enormous multitude of Hindu gODS to choose from, you might strike it lucky and find one that you fancy - and of the right gender, whatever that may be.

Never mind. We - you, me, the Great Crowd Class - write not for each other, but for the non-participating Lurker Class, who, over time, will outnumber us by 100:1 as the read counters eventually show.
It's incredible how many people take one look at my moniker and lump me in with believers.

The question of animal suffering is what led me to atheism.
