What some mistake as "eye trouble" is

i was in line today at mcdonald's with intention of buying only the 69-cent diet soda and i thought about what the little girl taking the order would think - made me laugh to think about someone else's opinion of my cheap purchases.
then i remembered all the following that i used to believe because i was brought up in the org.:.
jehovah and the angels and jesus are always watching everything you do satan and the demons are always watching everything you do the world is always watching everything you do (everything had to be a "witness" for jehovah) the congregation is always watching everything you do (wouldn't want to "stumble" anyone)and they are all waiting for the least little error so they can pounce and condemn you to eternal destruction.. it's a wonder we aren't all completely crazy and paranoid..
WTW:
I understand how you feel about Jehovah, and I found myself going down that road as well, but I really didn't want to give up on the Bible, especially the gospels---so I had to start thinking that all that stuff written in the OT were by people who wrote according to their point of view of who Jehovah is, because believe me, there are things written there I will never ascribe to a loving God, such as places where it's written that Jehovah grew hot with anger over something very trivial or like him killing people because they didn't know about him or them not even having the choice whether to worship him or not. It has to be that the writer saw it that way, but not necessarily the way it really was.
let me first establish that this is pretty shaky ground, and speculation on my part, so please don't flame me if i have things all wrong.
a couple weeks ago i think, i remember a post about moses, and the authenticity of the bible, in which it was mentioned that the tribes of israel may have actually been an asiatic people called the hyksos.
i found it interesting, but had never heard of the hyksos before.
I remember seeing something like this on TV...maybe it was on PBS. Sounds reasonable to me!
yesterday i bought a pair of jeans, and i don't take the same size as years ago.
from 31 inch waist 10 years ago, i buy 33 inch waist jeans now.
a few years ago, i bought many pairs of jeans, and didn't wear them much, thinking i'd be the same weight all my life....lol.
Yes, I have a dress I bought about 20 yrs. ago which I only wore once and then I gained weight. I love the style and color and hated to part with it. It is my inspiration that maybe, just maybe one day I'll be able to get back into it.
these questions aren't related to each other; just some thoughts that came into my head:.
1) do you like living in the time zone you are in?
or better yet, would you want to live or are you happy living near the international date line?.
Yes, Roller, I am a "sick, twisted freak!!"
And I agree with Jaguar. Frankie, I'll check out those websites. Thanks.
Leolaia, wHen I was in California visiting my cousins, I got a taste of what you are talking about. Takes some getting used to, for sure!
did the nine resurrections reported in the new testament really happen?
if so, why is there nothing said about them other than that they were resurrected?what about their life after they were resurrected?
wouldn't it be a strong witness that jesus could bring the dead back to life?.
And why are there no recorded responses from those who were brought back from the dead as to the condition of the dead when they themselves were dead?Wouldn't their testimony about what happens at death be strong evidence that when your dead ,you are actually dead and not somewhere else?
I find it strange that these nine accounts are recorded as fact without the dead persons( which the claim is made about) given any account of it themselves.
I have thought of these questions myself and even wondered why there is nothing recorded by the resurrected persons. Even though I believe the Bible is a book of faith, there does seem to be things written that sound more of folklore than fact. Helps to understand why there are agnostics and atheists in the world.

The reason why I asked about the time zone, is that if one lives in Japan, Australia, New Zealand, you would be a day ahead of the rest of the world. I kind of like that.
Since news agencies do seem bound to not report everything, we could say thank God for Bill Maher, Glenn Beck and other commentators!!
and to think, it'll be the day after my birthday!
my daughter is being induced as we speak.
wish her luck!
Congrats Minimus!
i have received word that we are now 'very, very close'.
at the sunday meeting, according to my trusted source, the speaker actually said that 'it is no longer years, nor months - yet weeks and days'.
so they need you back, now!
Nothing New. Back in the late 1980's, they were saying the same thing.
Heck, back in the mid-to late 60's, they were saying months were left. I have a vivid memory of my mom talking to one of her friends about the WT article which talked about this.
first of all, why don't all of you congratulate me on 2000 posts!
in other news, the jc is over.
because of this we have an elder that lied to us and to my wife parents.
Congrats on your 2000th post Drew!
What an experience you had with the JC. Elder B is going to have to live with his conscience for the rest of his life. Hope he can look at himself in the mirror.
