  new assembly procedure?

  a brother just told me about a new assembly procedure.

  during the program at his d.c. this past week-end (cornwall, ontario) the chairman asked everyone to pick up their belongings and leave the stadium immediately.

  everyone gathered in a nearby park.

  Whatever experiences may have caused you to question your enrolment with the WTBTS as a Jehovah’s Witnesses; millions of former JW’s could sign their name because their experiences would be almost identical.

  Or the woman is totally selfish and absolving her self of responsibility to remain socially cognizant among her peers i.e.

  …You are 28 years old and you made the choice to put yourself, and us, in this position. (if Paul was BITT, he didn’t have a choice to begin with)

  …The name we have worked so hard to build for the past 40 years isn't the same now.

  …Pride often gets in the way of our doing the things that are right but uncomfortable or embarrassing to us.

  …but you got your intelligence through inheritance from our genes.

  …Without our faith, we could not have endured what you have put us through.

  …You left us. We did not leave you.

  Dissfellowshiped Watchtower

  as it was considered back in 1995 that due to not holding to the society's view of the literal generation of 1914,i had disasociated myself,now all jehovah,s witnesses dont believe this anymore,are they all appostate for rejecting this important truth,that i had apparently sinned so much in rejecting?????????

  Perish the thought, sawthelight. Anything, and I mean anything you feel is relevant could be helpful to Jehovah’s Witnesses heading out the revolving door. And thanks for providing the proof for your rebuttal, which was very much appreciated.

  In this case however, I believe the subject was about “thought”, not belief, which illustrates why I think discussions on the net must have meanings clearly defined, although I’m often amiss in that regard.

  Could it be so simple? Truth via so much fear?

  as i look upon the life journey to date i cannot help but wonder why things have to be as complicated as they are.. life throughout the jw experience was complicated, at least for me it was.. here i am thinking about love.

  i find it almost derisory that an organisation teaching truth does so through the gradual instillment of untold fears, threats of punishment if one does not comply and here were not just talking about punishment in that sense of the word but spiritual punishment, persecution, which, connotations used to be, a living day/nightmare.. so enough of doom and gloom, fear, punishment, threats etc.

  maybe its not just me who has come to the conclusion that love really couldn't work with something like that and at least now, i feel far happier for focussing my directions elsewhere from the wt wonky timepeice movement.. i actually feel better than i once was, i can feel the sensation and experience the difference in my outlook on life, its perspectives and an even narrower way forwards.

  You are not allowed to have your own thoughts…

  Cautious, careful with this one (no pun intended), theoretically you can, have your own thoughts as long as you do not express or appear to influence others with those that differ from the WTBTS, disfellowshiping is simply the enforcement mechanism which consists of threat followed by quarantine.

  And for very good reason…corporate survival.

  like many of you i dedicated many years of my life searching for the "true" faith or religion.. after researching and considering religion i came to the conclusion that there is not such.

  i decided to worship god in my own temple.

  i hope you find yours.. the force be with you all !!!

  My Daughters Babtism6-9-01(my letter to her)

  dear carley.

  i just thought i would give you this card on this very important day to let you know my feelings about your decesion.. first of all i want you to know that i am very,very, proud that you have made a choice in your life to be a person of good clean moral standards and a person that has a regard for there creator and one that wants to be respected and looked up to.

  that makes dad very proud.. you are probally wondering why i no longer go to meetings with the family and no longer speak of spiritual things.

  The assembly is tomorow and I am dreading having to go there, however I would not want to hurt my daughters feelings,so I will go.

  Big Jim, so that going to the assembly won’t be a total waste of time, other than spending time with your daughter, how about taking some notes of your observations to post later?

  Although if your daughter sees you're taking an interest, she may think there’s a possibility you’ll have a change of heart.

  my flyers merely said: if as a jehovahs witness, a member of your family has been molested information is available for further information see: www.silentlambs.org or call 1-877-wtabuse.. nothing overtly inflammatory, actually more like a public service announcement.. i guess thats what most of the local organizers and friends thought in my neck of the, woods for the first two days of the district convention!

  but once the 'friends' realized that the website i was promoting with my flyers and moving car billboard was not an approved wt site, the powers that be got ... well ... pissed is the word!.

  nobody bothered me on friday as i went smiling about my posting flyers on the light and utility poles on the routes to/from the convention site.

  Outnfree, great job! But about your 12 year old son, did he understand the implications (if any)of what he was getting into?

  I can’t help thinking that your sons help was akin to me as youngster being asked to stand on the street corner by my father and holding a Watchtower and Awake up for two hours.

  In other words you may have an agenda, perhaps he doesn’t.
