God's Plan
by serotonin_wraith ineverything that happens is part of god's plan.. atheists are speaking out against religion.. therefore, this is part of god's plan.. do theists have the right to complain?.
on the flip side,.
some religious people will complain that they aren't getting special treatment (immunity from criticism, for example).. even if their complaining is a part of their god's plan (as everything is).... atheists don't believe in their god so don't actually have to pay any attention to that argument..

Well so far we have billions of dead humans and all manner of life!
So if it was gads plan it sure dont seem as mathematically predictable as the cosmos - or is that just because the guy who worked it all out isn't telling us?
Humanity is like the weather - you never know at exactly what second the sun will shine or when a typhoon will hit. Chaotic.
Maybe humans aren't collectively much better than the god they criticise = unless we just haven't awoken yet???
To the fact he is inside each of us - to combine and save life on Earth?

Family situation
by frisbee injust looking for a bit of good advice, my daughter and son in law have been dfd and i have two great grandsons, elders on patrol realise have been communicating and are now arranging for a meet with co in two weeks, they saw fit to remove what limited priveledges i still hold with all that stuff about disloyalty, sharer in wicked works etc.
so now too visit and hug grandsons may release the damocletian sword, are any of you guys stll in touch with close family even if still in - have you had major run ins with the boe in similar situations.oh, i dont need a get out clause for the moment.

How do I get over my Family treating me Like an Outcast
by moonpie inhello, i've been disfellowshipped for almost six years and it's still hard not being able to communicate with them.
i talk to my mom once a week, but my dad won't pick up the phone to talk to me.
i have 3 brothers and 6 sisters.

Difficult though this may seem and impossible though it may feel,
the first step is awareness - like how can you not be?
the second to feel the pain and acknowledge it,
the third to accept it ( tricky because it almost means you have to cut them off and future encounters become irrelevant) <though if you can live in the present moment it doesn't matter because even your worst enemy can come along and you just respond to what they say with no memory of past in your mind>
fourthly to keep in the present moment with the 'inner you' - the part of you inside which is no part of your form (body) and to realise this is the bit from god, part of god and to go back to god when your outer form (body) dissolves into old age and death.
Seems the above works for some = though I cannot claim to have mastered it personally! If I do I'll let you know.

My gran had many a wise proverb:
'If there were no evil women there'd be no evil men'
And women smell far more than men but men never know it coz their senses aren't so well evolved - which is why women always win the 'you smell more than me' conflicts.

Ditching the Book Study. Is it just a Buy Now, Pay Later option for the WT?
by nicolaou init's unconfirmed and it may be nothing more than a rumour but it seems that the congregation book study may be about to see it's demise.
i think this could have a very positive effect as far as the watchtower is concerned for quite a few years.. the mood will be lifted.
there will be a whole new evening of freedom and the brothers will be happy for it, don't underestimate the goodwill this will generate.
