DARK KNIGHT- You and your wife deserve happiness and indeed it's NOT wrong to move on from the JW cult- in fact it Is the thing to do to save your sanity and free yourself and your wife. You will have freedom of mind by thinking for yourself outside of the WT mindset and your life will become sane and peaceful again I promise. Don't give away your power to the elders. They have no right or no justification to intrude into your life. They only have as much power as WE give them. Do not give the elders any power or control over you and your wife's life- then the elders will eventually stop calling. Ignore their calls, don't answer them. If you answer the phone and it's them- tell them you've said all you're going to say and hang up on them if you must if they won't stop. It's what I did and they stopped bothering me in 2003 . Take care, we are here as a support to you friend

Is it morally wrong to put Watchtower behind?
by Darkknight757 inwith our latest and final run in with the elders, the wife and i had a very long talk about what's next in our life.
do we try to help others see the light as it were concerning watchtower or do we just let it go and move on with our life?
we have made it perfectly clear that we will never go back to watchtower and we are finally happy.

"Jehovah's Witnesses" : A religion - or a denomination of a religion?
by The Searcher in"a christian denomination is a generic term for a distinct religious body identified by traits such as a common name, structure, leadership and doctrine.
individual bodies, however, may use alternative terms to describe themselves, such as church or fellowship.
" (wikipedia) .

Jehovah's Witnesses / WT Society are NOT really a " religion, " and NOT really " Christian " - they are a dangerous mind control cult specializing in control and financial extortion of it's members while disguised and masquerading as a " religion "

Anyone else watching the Leah Remini series "Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath" on A&E?
by NikL inmy wife and i started to watch this last night and have covered only 2 episodes so far but it is really interesting.. there are so many similarities between scientology and wt.
not in beliefs of course but in their shunning, of their version of apostates etc.. it was amusing for me to see my active jw wife watch and get all indignant.
at one point a statement was made that a religion "shouldn't separate families" and she muttered to herself "absolutely not".. i am kind of hoping that jws will watch and see what is being carried on by a high control cult and eventually recognize it in their own lives.

Tuesday night's show was phenomenal. Absolutely mind blowing ! Leah & Mike interviewed David Miscaviges father- Ron Miscavige and it was some really crazy shit. David Miscavige actually had his people stalking and tailing his dad for a year and a half after his dad escaped the cult compound. And yes- he and his wife actually had to ESCAPE the compound by putting pedal to the metal on the car accelerator as they were never allowed to go anywhere. Locks on all gates, barbwire - they just finally bolted for freedom. Then one time when Ron Miscavige was being followed by his son's people he had to bend over clutching his shirt pocket to get his cell phone- the Scientologists following him reported back to David Miscavige they thought his dad was having a heart attack and should they move in on him ? David Miscavige said, " No, just let him be, don't do anything . " Very disgusting and of course David Miscavige has cut off his dad and his wife as have other Scientology Miscavige family members.
Also interviewed were a couple former Scientology higher ups who were victims of David Miscaviges beatings and physical abuse- absolutely riveting - my wife and I sat there crying for these people and the abuse they went through losing their whole families to shunning after escaping the cult- we know how they feel- many of us have experienced these same things in the Witnesses. Leah Remini and Mike Rinder are doing a MAJOR service to the world community and the United States by getting this information out on the Arts & Entertainment network. These are stories that NEED to continue to be heard and seen in order to get the public to take their heads out of their ass and start seeing the dangers of mind control cults like Scientology and Jehovah's Witnesses. Like Leah Remini states, " Get your children and loved ones out of this thing ! " My sentiments entirely. I truly hope this series on Scientology opens doors. Take care, Peace out, mr. Flipper

I feel really, really sorry for those born into the Jehovah's Witness religion
by jambon1 insome facts that make the difference between you and me:.
1 - as a person raised by non jw family, my parents have never loved me based on conditions set out by a group of old men who they don't even know.
how does it feel to know that you are in the unique situation where your parents brought you into the world and said 'i'll show love to you.

JAMBON- Great thread. One of the best I've seen here in the last 6 months or so ! I relate to EVERYTHING you stated as my parents got into the JW cult 8 years before I was born as the youngest of their 4 children. I didn't have a snowball's chance in hell of breaking away from it until I was an adult. And even then it took awhile as I of course married another young JW woman who I had 3 children with. It wasn't until my kids were teenagers that I finally broke away from the shackles of bondage to the WT Society. It took courage on my 18 year old sons part to break free and courage on my part as a 44 year old raised JW to leave. Because many of us have suffered the shunning repercussions and ostracism from our JW families. I give a virtual computer hug to all of you ex-JW's on this board who have suffered injustices like me . We are survivors, we are strong. Keep the REAL faith my friends- trust yourself, trust your instincts. Thanks Jambon for this thread that is very real and personal for many of us. It's good to bring awareness about it to those who haven't experienced the shunning. Take care, merry x-mas

The con is completed - comments from the US branch's LDC chief
by sir82 inrecently attended a special assembly day.. guest speaker was thomas chicky, a member of the us branch committee and the head of the us ldc (which has replaced the rbcs).. the last talk of the day is scheduled for an hour.
it was the usual boring mumbo-jumbo.
he appeared to have blasted through his hour-long outline in just about 45 minutes, so he "treated" us to informal comments on recent developments.. he commented on the new wt complex in fishkill ny.. then he dropped the bomb (well, to anyone with ears and at least 2 functioning synapses).. the following is not a word for quote, but presents the gist of his comments:.

SIR 82 asked, " So they're either investing or spending it - if not real estate , then what? "
Most undoubtedly a sizeable amount is going to pay off OUT OF COURT child abuse settlements with gag orders being put on the child abuse victims and families so as to keep many of these child abuse settlements quiet. WT leaders don't want hundreds of Candace Conti type publicity type child abuse cases popping up on social media - Internet OR T.V.
The longer WT leaders can milk a half ass " respectable " image - especially in America where media is everything, i.e. tweets, text messaging, Internet false news etc. - WT leaders HAVE to spend these exorbitant amounts of money out behind the scenes to keep themselves in the ballgame financially and do whatever is necessary to not lose their financial " interests " .
If you don't believe me then pay attention to what Leah Remini said the church of Scientology is doing to try and debunk what her and Mike Rinder are exposing about the Scientology cult on mainstream media and T.V. right now. Scientology is spending millions of $$$$ attempting to discredit the ugly truths about their unjust and lying practices being exposed by Remini and Rinder. These huge religious corporates will stop at nothing to try and prevent bad press in the media. I truly believe that is where a nice chunk of this WT takeover money is going. To attorneys to make out of court child abuse settlements. JW's won't hear about it, nor will we if it's done in silence with gag orders imposed behind closed doors.
As for the rest of the millions WT is making - I'm sure WT leaders have budgeted some of that money to go to offshore accounts to keep the organization afloat and guarantee WT leaders their financial stability. It's Bethel longtime workers being laid off who will suffer financial fallout- not WT leaders or their financial warlords. Way I see it

" We're going to work with what we have "
" Oh, we'll occasionally build a new kingdom hall, but we don't need many of those. "
Translation : " We're going to work with what we have because it makes us more money consolidating all of you JW's into more crowded congregations thereby enabling us WT leaders to sell off the unused kingdom halls for a profit, er, excuse me " Kingdom Interests" - so it furthers " Jehovah's name " . "
" Also- we'll occasionally build a new kingdom hall, but it won't be necessary as many brothers and sisters show such FAITH in the faithful and discreet slaves direction by willingly traveling 30 miles or more to partake of Jehovah's , er, excuse me WT Society's " bountiful spiritual FOOD " !
If you haven't hit your gag reflex button inside of you yet after reading this- you know that you're still under WT cult mind control

Another "pull the football away just before you can kick it" comment made by Circuit Assembly's special guest, Thomas Chicky
by sir82 ini started a thread on this guy's comments about building kingdom halls here.. the guy also said this (again, not a word for word quote, but the gist of his comments):.
"the primary hope of salvation is the resurrection.
jehovah does not promise anyone that he will survive armageddon.

Oh yes- Also Rutherford's talk should have been titled, " Millions Now Living will all Die. " At least THAT would have been honest

" resurrection . That is our primary hope of salvation. "
Translation : This is what WT leaders might REALLY tell each JW ( if they were honest which they are not ) - " Well sorry folks, we were bullshitting you for the last 137 years since 1879 - there really IS no such thing as " the time of the end " or " Armageddon " . It was just a ploy on our part to get you to keep supporting " kingdom interests " within the Jehovah's Witness organization which supports the WT Society through your voluntary contributions supporting Kingdom Halls that we eventually take over title to even though YOU paid for it all . Oh and don't forget you kept the " last days " in mind also while we accepted your retirement funds, inheritances, life insurance policies, your houses, cars, and other gifts you donated on behalf of " kingdom interests " . WE know it may appear dishonest of us - but you know Jehovah has a perfect organization run by imperfect men. Elders and the Governing Body are not infallible , yet Jehovah is a tender God of mercies and he'll understand. With love for the brotherhood, Sincerely , WT Society . "
Even IF the WT leaders tried to be honest and apologize- they could not possibly be honest because it's beyond their ability to be so. This organization is run by narcissistic sociopaths who lie and has been wired for deceit and deception right from the get go back in 1879 where the 4 generations of JW " false prophecies " has cut off 8 million JW's from reality. While deceiving them at the same time. Hell of a way to become a 1 billion $$$$ corporation - but it's happened time and again throughout history. I feel sorry for these older ones who die and bought into this crap- including my own elderly JW parents. My mom died - NEVER having received these false promises from the WT Society after being in it since 1951 . I think she knew by the end of her life that it was all BS. At least she died in the here and now remembering happy memories with family of what REALLY happened - as opposed to not being given false promises. If I had a rocket launcher I'd shove it up some GB members ass

New member
by NinaCee ini did not see a newbs thread to introduce myself, so my apologies if i'm in the wrong place.
i was a 3rd generation born in witness for 30 years until i was disfellowshipped back in 2007 for making a mistake.
my entire life up until that point was based on and circled around the society, and even though at first i really enjoyed my freedom (i still do), the fact is that i'm still struggling with cognitive dissonance, resentment, and loneliness.. i miss my family all the time.

NINA- Welcome to the board, you are among friends here who have also experienced many injustices from the WT Society. I had to chuckle at your comment, " I think he's ( Jehovah ) a bit of an asshole " - LOL ! - I totally agree. I mean what allegedly " heavenly father " would allow his creation of humans to suffer because the first man and woman ate an apple for christs sakes ? I wouldn't even do that to MY children !
We are here as a support to you and welcome to the board my friend
