  i just heard from an older sister in the hall that donald's trump son-in-law bought part of the brooklyn heights compound, i think she said the 25 building but what ever.

  let me start with a disclaimer: i am in no way minimizing the horrific crimes done to children by pedophiles.

  i'm not downplaying the number of lives lost due to the blood issue, or hearts broken because of shunning.

  i do not want to discount the feelings of those who have come to the end of their lives with expectations of paradise postponed.. but to me the biggest atrocity committed by this awful cult is raising children from a small age to believe that soon god will kill billions of people.

  When I first started learning what the Watchtower was all about, and they still were coming to our door occasionally, I wanted to shake them by the shoulders and shout - don't subject your children to this cult!

  Now Flipper has a grandchild, born in October. Breaks my heart to think how he will be indoctrinated by his fanatical JW family. (Has already been taken to meetings and door to door.)

  The mother already told Flipper he can see the baby IF he comes back to meetings.

  They are a horrible, abusive cult. And this is what the children are taught.

  Good lord - that pile of excuses is so incredibly stooopid. This is the kind of stuff that makes me think someone is sabotaging WT from the inside.

  But I know that if we showed the list of WT responses to Flipper's parents, siblings or daughters we would most likely get their usual programmed response "Well, it really does make sense when you think about it."

  since you could say tanzania and other regions within africa are the last hard to reach places on the earth.

  it is where the www preaching work funds are directed, as being justified to get your donations.there are now no longer any foreigners at the branch within tanzania, they all were told to go.

  MANA 11- This is exceedingly interesting to me as I have a niece and her husband who have been JW missionaries in Tanzania for about 10 years or more now. So you are saying that ALL the missionaries have been sent back to their respective home countries then ? When did this occur approximately ? I'll have to ask my JW sister whose daughter( my niece the missionary ) is. Of course- that may be somewhat difficult as my older JW sister has shunned me for years and won't talk to me. AS has my missionary niece who has shunned me for 20 years or so.

  That being said if this change causes my niece and/or her husband to open their eyes to TTATT - all will be forgiven and I'll be there for her. I have a request MANA - if you would kindly PM me the names of some of the missionaries you might know over in Tanzania - I will let you know which one is my niece and her husband and perhaps you can let me know what their fate was or is.   What was your ''the last straw that broke the camels back'' moment

  there is a limit to how much straw (long yellow grass) a camel can carry on its back.

  if you keep putting more straw on top, it will finally break the camel's back.

  when you are at the last straw you are finally angry and will not take any more.. my moment (to stop attending all watchtower meetings) was after the harsh treatment from the elders and fellow congregation members of my second cousin who was disfellowhipped as a teenager.

  RULES & REGULATIONS- Great thread, thanks for starting it . I had a similar situation as yourself. I saw huge injustices committed by elders not only against myself - but against numerous others in the congregations and what angered me was that the elders got away with it with no punishment or answering for their injustices. But if a rank & file JW publisher did similar things- they'd be either reproved, counseled, or DFed for the same offenses. The things you stated about how DFed ones are treated at memorials and elsewhere disgusted me also.

  So it was the straw that broke the camel's back for me when elders tried giving me their personal opinions as counsel- instead of the Bible or even going beyond or against what the WT Society counseled to say when counseling a person. I was taught for years from birth that elders allegedly had God's " holy spirit " - but when I saw HOW they counseled and the counsel that was given to me as lunacy and their own opinions I told myself , " there is no way in hell these guys have anything resembling " holy spirit" or God's backing ! " . That's when I left cold turkey walking out of a kingdom hall before a meeting started back in 2003 - and I never went back nor ever looked back. Best decision I ever made. Freedom of mind and freedom of movement is priceless

  Just my luck- I try to post the video " Free as a Bird " from the Beatles - type everything in correctly and it directs me to a Justin Bieber you tube. As Bugs Bunny said once- "Some days I should have just stood in bed ". LOL.

  If anybody has the ability to post the song and video of " Free as a Bird " by the Beatles - I'd appreciate it. I tried posting about 10 different you tubes of it and it kept saying the video wasn't available. I don't know if Yoko revoked the rights of people to post this - or what ? Must be some legal thing.   ORPHAN CROW- Thanks for that information on mark David Chapman. I do remember awhile back reading that he did make a trip two months earlier to New York to shoot Lennon. What a freak and scumbag. Those kinds of people HAVE to be kept locked away to protect the public AND the rest of Lennon's family.

  SAINTBERTHOLDT- Thanks for the you tube, nice version of Real Love. It really is a sad thing in life when people who try to put forth peace on our planet get enemies who want to take them out. Still- Peace is the better option to promote than war indeed
