You make a good point, JeffT.
This class WAS a Sociology class and not a political science nor religious studies class. It was designed to get us thinking about what's wrong in society and even if we had the power to "fix" things we see that need to be fixed, everything else would be affected in some way. So, the plan has to take this into consideration.

Good idea. Now you would have to address the $$ aspect. It's a really interesting exercise in just how everything is so closely connected. It's easy to say "I'd change this or that" but "how you would change it" on a basic level is something else. Kind of like the butterfly effect.

When I was in college (in my 30's because I started late due to JW childhood), my Sociology prof gave us an assignment: If you were made the BENEVOLENT DICTATOR tomorrow and you could do anything to change things, what and how would you do it. Remember, you are a dictator, a benevolent one, but a dictator nonetheless. You are allowed to initiate any programs you choose. Don't just tell us what you would change but give us an overview of how you would do it.
Any takers or ideas of your own? I'd be interested in what and how some of you would think.
Edit: If you want to apply this to the "organization" instead of the overall culture, that would be interesting, too.

Dreams of KH, Assemblies, etc.
by monophonic inso, i attend more meetings than most jws with all the dreams i continue to have regarding the meetings and assemblies..
usually the dreams aren't nightmares, but i'm supposed to give a talk and i'm given what i'm supposed to say and i tell the brothers there's no way i'm getting up there and giving the talk unless i can go off the outline..
most of the time, the dreams bleed into other areas of my life, like last night i was at the assembly and i saw this supposed life-long 'friend'....

Kingdumb Hall Smell
by Wordly Andre inever notice all the kingdumb halls smell the same, like new books or something.
i haven't been inside a kingdumb hall since a funeral i went to a couple years ago, but right when i walked in, it was the same smell.
what got me thinking about this is i have a new book here, smells like kingdumb hall, but i guess what do you expect from a "religion" sorry publishing company, to smell like.
