Kingdumb Hall Smell

ever notice all the kingdumb halls smell the same, like new books or something.

i haven't been inside a kingdumb hall since a funeral i went to a couple years ago, but right when i walked in, it was the same smell.

what got me thinking about this is i have a new book here, smells like kingdumb hall, but i guess what do you expect from a "religion" sorry publishing company, to smell like.

Now that you mention it, that's true. It's more like a new carpet smell to me though. Speaking of smells, does anybody remember how the Watchtower magazine used to smell a long time ago. I remember sniffing its pages as a little kid. You could almost get high off that odor!

Hi, recently widowed need conversation

i'm recently widowed, 7mos, suddenly lost husband from heart attack, married 29yrs, have been inactive for around 5yrs and don't plan on going back to jw.. we were very close and i miss the daily interaction and conversation.

my daughter, 25, lives with me but it's not the same.

is there anyone els out there that would just like to chat,e-mail?

You Are Much Too Harsh About The Watchtower Society

What I would say would depend on what I was disfellowshipped for. If it was for immorality, then I would probably simply say:

"I may be a sinner, Mom and Dad, but I'm not wicked. I love you both, and that won't change. Jesus preached a message of love and forgiveness, so take that into consideration if you choose to follow the message from someone other than him. I know for a fact that there are lots of very faithful Jehovah's Witness parents that do not shun their flesh and blood because in their heart they know Jehovah would never demand that from them. You better think long and hard before you allow a religion to put that kind of wedge between you and your flesh and blood. Give it some thought....that's what Jehovah gave you a brain for. I love you both. You may think I've left Jehovah, but I have not. I've left a man-made end times Adventist religion offshoot....not God. You better think about it for your own spiritual well-being."

If the reason was for apostasy:

"I can't open the door for you, Mom and Dad. The information is out there for you to examine just like the Bible tells us to do. Of course, the WTB&TS doesn't want you do examine it because THEY KNOW. If your faith in your religion is strong and you firmly believe it's THE TRUTH, then what do you have to lose by doing what the scriptures tell you to do: make sure of all things.

I love and appreciate your sincere efforts in raising me. My leaving this religion does not negate that and it does not mean I am abandoning you or ending my love for you.

This is serious spiritual stuff and all I can tell you both is "you better examine the facts before it's too late. You may find that the admonition to "get out of her my people" goes beyond just what you've been told by a few men writing doctrine in a high tower up in New York."

I'm sorry Junction Guy. You may be right. But, a 31-year old attractive financially secure man should never have to go on-line to find a date! Women are everywhere and if he's what he describes, they would FIND HIM. I sincerely thought it wasn't for real.

Recurrent nightmare, what does it mean?

i am having a recurrent and very upsetting nightmare that my husband is murdered.

in one dream, i call the police and am arrested immediately myself.

in another dream, there is blood everywhere.

There you go, Worldly Andre. You cook. She doesn't. She's afraid you see her as inadequate in this area and someone like Rachel Ray who will get in the kitchen with you, have a glass of wine, and share the experience of cooking up a hot little dish together is what you'd really prefer. (just my interpretation...)

i've often thought that the closing prayer at jw conventions is a study in psychology in and of itself.. consider the typical scenario.

it's 4:30pm on a sunday afternoon.

people are tired and hungry.
