Yes, I know what you said. You know, you really should be careful advocating suicide on a site like this.

If you REALLY believe in population reduction, then start with yourself.
Otherwise, shut the hell up.
No need for killing people, reducing the global birthrate below 2.1 children per woman would achieve a reduction in population over the long term.

What's wrong with that? Some methods of population reduction would certianly be wrong, but less people would be a good thing. There's not enough resources for 6-7billion people to live like we do in the devloped world. Although I can see how some interests would want overpopulation; throngs of desperate poor people provide a ready source of cheap/slave labor.

Can anyone tell me what the G20 protesters are protesting about???
by Confucious ini'm clueless.. .

They're a rather eclectic group ranging from anarchists, enviromentalists, even groups like The Salvation Army. These meetings bring protestors from all sorts of groups. Although I doubt The Salvation Army would throw rocks at police lines. They protest for enviromental concerns, anti-globalization of course, whatever war is happening at the time, humanitarian needs around the world. Anywhere you have the leaders of the most powerful countries meeting together you're going to have people there trying to have their voices herd.

That was good, the whole logic (or lack thereof) of the 144,000 doctrine was the thing that started me asking questions.

Do Americans feel a 'special relationship' with the UK?
by ThomasCovenant inthe wt society always made a big point about the anglo-american world power when i was growing up in the t. i don't know if they still do.
probably not.. couple this with the uk media very often going on about a special relationship between the two countries.
some journalists would often point out though that this may have been wishful thinking on the part of the smaller uk.. i was a fan of alistair cooke's 'letter from america' and he , being of an older uk birth background would also reinforce this impression i had that there was a difference between the bond between the us/uk that was different to other countries.. .

A signifigant portion of my ancestry comes from there, so I guess I do have more than a passing interest.
Americans in general? Some, although I'd guess that most couldn't locate the British Isles on a map.

To all the sensible atheists on this board:
by John Doe ini'm awed by your calm and rational demeanors and your penchant for keeping your composures when faced with the heckling and willfully ignorant spirits that do contaminate the peace from time to time.
thanks.
how do you keep your cool amidst such blatant baiting and tomfoolery?

Because we know that all good atheists shall partake of the beer volcano and the stripper factory. So sayeth the FSM, pasta be upon him.

With regards to sunbathing making the skin of Homo Sapiens darker let me explain the following. Pale skinned people who are subject to intensive sunlight tend to get skin cancer. Therefore through natural selection those who have higher levels of melanin in their skin have a higher survival rate. It"s basic evolution and there's nothing racist about it.
And darker skinned people who lived in areas with little sun would tend to get rickets. Although vitamin D deficiency is a lot easier to cure today than melanoma.
Edit: "be more likely to" would be better in place of "tend"
