Short answer: greed.
lew rockwell posted an excellent article (the force is with us) on the downward trend in prices we are seeing in some sectors of the economy, and why this is a good and absolutely necessary thing to be happening.
as we all know, the powers-that-be at the federal reserve, in the federal government, and on wall street are trying their best to make sure that prices do not come down.
in seeing falling prices as one of the big problems of the economy, they fail to understand that housing prices (for example) must be allowed to fall to market levels so that more people can afford to buy houses at mortgages they can afford, and so that the huge surplus of housing that wont sell at previous prices will be able to sell.

i have a job in retail working nights and weekends.
i was sick of christmas music from black friday on--the first day it was played.
don't get me wrong, traditional christmas music is ok in moderation, but remixes and every tom dick and harry doing it is enough to drive one insane!
For some real oldies listen to some sacred chant.

a friend of mine has 'reminded' me of how much i loved looking up into the heavens and gazing at the twinkling lights.
i love the stars, planets, galaxies, nebulas.
their designs, colours, vastness, the endless renewal of light.
My dad had a telescope, and I remember being able to see the rings of Saturn, the great red spot on Jupiter, and its four largest moons Europa, Io, Ganymede, and Callisto, and all the craters and mountians on our moon. It even had a solar filter so you could see the sun. It was a 6" reflector on an equatorial mount.
Years ago I got to see the shuttle reentering over Texas, that was cool to see it streaking across the sky then a few minutes later watching it land on TV.
The wallpaper on my pc at work is from a Hubble deep field survey.
the astronaut's tool bag that was accidentally sent into orbit
If I had a space hammer, I'd hammer in the exosphere.
I'd hammer in the mesosphere.
All above this land!

should females really direct derision towards god's true organization on earth?
and should they be doing it while wearing pantsuits?
Only if you're using the pantsuit to cover your head.
hey friends.... ok. i'm not saying that i have the solution to the somalia piracy problem.
saturday's wall street journal had a whole article on this.. he's my solution.
debate me, add to it, or come up with your own solution.. but the problem seems to that "people" are obviously paying the ransom demands.. lets face it... you have $100 million in oil - pirates sieze the ship - and they ask for 10 million or they blow up the ship.
Well the "Islamic Courts" faction in Somalia has said they'll crack down on the piracy, and we seem to be looking the other way as they take control of the country.
you can't make this stuff up.. .

Maybe one of the turkeys was named Putin. That's what he gets for rearing his head over Alaska.
i don't mind either - both are fattening to the nth degree but some things just need a dollop.

I wonder... what would a creature from the mayoverse look like? Would it be hostile? Friendly? Tasty? What sort of mayo based technology could they share with us?
Oh great beings of the mayoverse! We beseech thee! Grant us the boon of your fatty wisdom!

I saw the title and thought Mayoverse, a whole universe made out of mayo! The mind boggles.
Anyway, umm.... Mayo, but not a whole universe of it, that would be a bit much.
