  Is There Something Specific That U Regret Not Doing Because You Were A JW?

  did you want to belong to a social club but couldn't because it was "worldly" and witnesses don't get involved with the world?.

  did you not go to college simply because witnesses say it's bad?.

  did you deprive your kids of things because you were a "good jw"?.

  I regret the self-righteous pity I used to have for people when we met them on the ministry and felt we were always so right.
  
  Other than that there is very little I regret. I'm not the regretting type. I think that being a witness, despite everything, has still made me a pretty decent human being and I have learnt a lot about myself from not going any more, too. I'm definitely one who learns from all experiences, no matter what they are.

  yes that's right, our own terry will be taking the podium this week.. terry is an insightful contributor to jwd and his story, "my life in jehovah's service," is available here.

  terry is writing a book about his prison experiences, i wept by the waters of babylon.

  as you might expect, he has put together quite a commentary on this week's lesson: the word of jehovah never fails.

  Anyone else here with ADD/ADHD?

  i have had this problem all my life.

  i have a child that also has it.

  since people with adhd have a problem fitting into organizations do you think it may be one of the reasons why you just couldn't take the jw's any more.

  I had two Eminem albums that an elder guilt tripped me over so I got rid of them.
  
  Then I bought another copy of my favourite of the two albums and hid it. But I was racked with guilt so got rid of it again.
  
  Then last year when I left I bought the same album along with about seven other Eminem ones. And a couple of fifty cent. Eek.

  There was a kid who had it in our hall, he was the son of a woman who was studying. In the book study he wold play up, and once he got up in the middle of the study and crawled behind a cupboard and the book conductor had to drag him out. It must have been really hard for him to sit still.
  
  But I also believe that too many kids are labelled with the ADD badge these days, leaving me to doubt its existence. Many times I wonder whether it's simply a lack of discipline. I'm dreading becoming a teacher, to be honest, when if I tell the kids off I get the parents ringing up with the "Don't you know he's got ADD" line.....
