Don't know about that.
Apparantly there are around 450,000 people in the world over 100 years old.
That includes 72,000 in the US and 9000 in the UK.
...but since neither of these long-lived ladies were witnesses, jehovah would have destroyed them anyway.
may they rest in peace.

why are so many public talks these days aimed at the congregation rather than the public?.
is this by design, or is it elders slipping up?.
references to "brothers and sisters" etc.

References to "Brothers and Sisters" etc. are hardly relevant in a talk supposedly designed for the 'public'.
Has their been 'new guidelines' given?
illeism - the act of referring to oneself in the thrid person.
i am alone, or do you find it really, really annoying when 'speakers' (talk givers) refer to themselves in the third person.
say brother smith is giving the public talk and giving encouragement to do more, then he says:.

It really is boasting their self-importance. What do you think?

Talking about guest houses.
I heard a story once of 2 brothers who visited a convention and went to the 'rooming' department for accommodation.
They were put in a guest house that was basically a normal home where the owner rent out two bedrooms, and guess what, the other bedroom was rented to two sisters.
And guess what else.... they didn't have sex.

i remember about 1993 or so at an assembly some name dropping of who wrote some of the kingdom melodies.. anyone remember any?
i dont remember any of the names dropped and would like to.
Don't be so sure that no one will read it. The topic might be 4 years old but a new post puts it right back up in the "Active topics" list.
whose idea to have new/changed songs?.
who decided what songs would be 'deleted'?
and on what basis?.
DNCall - Thanks I'll have a look at your article.

Just had a quick look at this WT.
I didn't know that all recreational activities had to include studying (see picture on p19.)
Let's go to the the forest for a picnic and have a study.

I've heard before that the removal of some is due to them being unsingable. If that's the case why have they lasted so long and why were they included in the first place.
If I decide to write a song, who decides whether it should be included and on what basis?
