i see that ray franz is coming in for a fair bit of criticism due to his apparrant unwillingness to accept that jw's had a problem with the existence of child abuse when he was a member of the gb.
also, it would appear that ray is being chided for his belief in the rule of 2 witnesses before action can be taken against an abuser.
it seems to me that it is quite likely that ray wasn't aware that there was a serious abuse problem within the society when he was a member of the gb, if only for the reason that ray would find such an activity so detestable that he would believe it to be a virtually impossible act for anyone to perpetrate.
... the idea of the two witness rule is modeled after modren civil courts to prevent people from false accusations ... Ray stated that he never supoported or intended for the policy to be misused in child abuse cases.
Amazing, I know you will correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't there actually two different points here?
1. Ray supports the two witness rule.
2. Ray never meant the two witness rule to be misused as it has in child abuse cases.
Is this correct? I would just like to have it clear in my mind. Thank you.

(((Ugg))))
We sometimes forget that behind the screen names are real people, some who have limitations, and who are on this forum because they NEED to be here.
Thinking of you Ugg (with the skinny mommie).

Hi Yrs, I eat peanut butter and beans, I just don't care much for meat. Something about it just does not appeal to me. Once in a while I will have a little chicken or maybe a little fish, but I would prefer to eat veggies, carrots, lettuce, potatoes. I also like bread. I lose weight very quickly though and sometimes when I'm busy I actually forget to eat. I am trying to be more conscientious about it though.
i read the news and i feel like i need some "light relief".
how's your weekend going?
mrs ozzie and i are just sitting down with some very exotic espresso coffee (you what that means, mulan!
17. Going to university.
I was determined to go, but for a long time felt really, really guilty.

Thank you Valis. That was really nice of you. Good information too.
Mouthy, you look teriffic. Never change.
Francois, maybe part of the problem is that I don't like fatty foods. I hardly ever eat meat but I love veggies. At dinner I eat the side dishes, the potatoes, the vegetables, maybe some bread. Just the thought of whipped cream makes me a little queasy.
