  while an earlier version was made available privately the time has come to 'progress'.. conscious class and ex both strongly adhere to not keeping things 'hidden' in regards to wts publications, talks and documents which are circulated in order to maintain it's position.. another wonderful poster (who has yet to give me permission to name) has 'reduced' and 'bookmarked' the first full copy link i was given by our 'winner'.. in this newest and final 'clean' copy link you find two other additions besides the reduction/bookmarking..... the brother who uploaded the entire book wishes all to have a copy that includes both boe ltrs (pre-ks ltr and spiral binding ltr).

  also another development has occurred.... the brother responsible for this book being brought into light and put forth for public consumption and discussion has requested i post this letter explaining to 'us' (jwn posters/global audience) and 'them' (wts of penn & ny).. i ask you give attention to his words/ experiences as he is representative of a newly emerging demographic within the conscious class.

  i cut and pasted the subject line from a comment made by one of this board's longtime members.

  it got me wondering if this is the prevalent thinking in here.

  for a very long time i believed that jw's and all fundamentalist christian folk are a cut above the norm.

  Ziddina - wonderful post! I think the issues that you describe are exactly right and are compounded by the crazed belief that the world is going to end soon which destroys any efforts for long term personal improvement because god is going to fix everything anyway.

  I do not believe that Armageddon is coming. In a weird way it would be interesting to see a god judging the good and the bad, because I don't think the WTS would come out on the good side. But alas, it is just a weird dream. Take care of your family, your friends and you. Do good, because that is our paradise.

  ray franz decided to leave bethel and the governing body because he could not continue to promote or support the lies and half truths that were being told.

  do you think that it is possible that one of the new boys might actually grow a pair of balls and stand up for what is true and reject what is false?.

  Decades ago the Jw religion prided itself on its religious creativity and thinking ability. It may have been easier then to defect for conscience or doctrinal reasons. Today it is not a thinking group. It is a survival group. So no, I don't think we will see a defection because the individual defecting cannot run to the intellectual high ground. There is not even a doctrinal opposing point with credibility. When it comes to this religion there is not any high ground remaining. If there is a defection it will be for a selfish reason not a principled one.

  Flipper - I love the Giant's chances with Cain pitching and it seems like the team believes that it can hit against anyone. Would love to attend a game, although it would have to be a game 6 now and the stinking flight from the Chatham Islands is pretty expensive:)

  If I buy a foreclosed home and borrow money to buy it, I am required to purchase title insurance. If the title is questioned then the title company does have some risk. If I pay cash and do not have title insurance then I do have some risk, but the risk is minimal.

  The questioning of the title and the legality of the foreclosure would come from the previous homeowner. The prior home owner would have to remedy the deficiency even if the claim that the foreclosure was fraudulent was correct. In most cases the courts side with the current homeowner since he/she acted in good faith and the prior homeowner defaulted on the obligation. The problems with the title and mortgage chain of ownership are rectifiable - time consuming but not difficult.

  There will not be free homes for people. People will have to pay their debts if they want to remain in the home and remedy past deficiencies if they want the home back and even then they might not get the home back. A homeowner might be able to negotiate some concessions from the bank, but these concessions are roughly equal to what the bank projects it will cost to go through the foreclosure process.

  With regard to banks failing because their loan portfolio is worth very little - now that is a big issue and it seems like they should be allowed to fail. But the US will need a national bank or some sort of substitute otherwise the economy will fail with the big banks.

  It will be interesting to see this play out.

  Moshe - certainly many mortgages were/are not properly documented by the banks. Mortgage procedures were written for a time that required paper and signatures. By shortcutting procedures, the banks will have a difficult time quickly foreclosing on a property. However, homeowners will not owe less because of the lack of a paper trail. The remedy for homeowner that had its house foreclosed upon is to pay what is owed. The remedy for the banks is to properly document the mortgage which will take time but is doable.

  With regard to decreasing house prices and the resulting lower mark-to-market of the banks portfolio of loans - this will result in a sever bank crisis as the banks will not have sufficient reserves to cover such losses (decreased portfolio value). This will cause many banks to fail and at minimum cause most banks to stop or limit loaning new money.

  The lack of properly documented mortgages will not result in any significant benefit to any homeowner other than delaying a foreclosure or by a bank modestly adjusting the amount owed or terms of the mortgage.

  Why a Movement to Stop Jehovah's Witnesses Doesn't Make Sense

  frequently, i see angry departing jw's want to stop someone from going through the experience they have had.

  people dying because of their horrible and contradictory blood doctrines, the protection of child molesters in their midst, who wouldn't want to destroy all of that.. the reality though is pretty simple.

  as an organization, jw's are far from the only ones who systematically practice the use and abuse of people for their own groups benefits.. can you get rid of one?

  I agree that that crumbling of the WTS is when individuals think for themselves and decide to act like an individual and a full attack-based program will never work against the JWs - they would think it was Satan and rally the troops. One organized movement that does bring down organizations and political parties is the access to free and open information. This is where an organized approach makes sense. The press and informal press (internet and blogs) is a powerful organized force. I think we may see the Witnesses crumble in Western Europe in our lifetime. As you note, the leadership is its own worst enemy and freedom of information about their evil nature and decisions will hasten the fall.
