as a witness eepcially during my teens - early twenties i believed that satan was watching me for my weaknesses.. .
this gave me a mild form of paranoia.. .

Never mind Satan and his demons, god was watching you all the time as well, you really had to watch what you were doing,
particularly in regards to how you were representing his earthly publishing company the WTS.
Well at least at the Kingdom Hall, outside he wasn't around so much.

I always thought it was funny when people who were not totally aware what the wine and the unleavened bread were representing, did partake.
They weren't JWS, just acquaintances or friends of JWS.
The looks they got were priceless.
But by-golly they were mentally diseased.

why did they feel they had a right to command everyone to gather to these conventions?
Too bad they don't have the meals anymore during Assemblies, I used to work in the kitchens during that time and found it a pleasant relief from
the boring repetitive talks. You think people now cant wait for the final prayer of the daily sessions occur, just imagine what it was like
when everyone there could smell the wafting of roast beef and mashed potatoes. There was at times a stampede to get in line for dinner.
having been out of the loop for a while on here, it dawned on me that the figure of memorial partakers has risen substantially from when i was a jw.. i think i bowed out at around 8500 in 2006.. can anyone briefly explain what the main reasons for this increase are and if it is ever discussed among jw's because if i remember correctly, the figure should be going down, not up.. thanks.. j.
One could look at the increase of the members of the JWS world wide and say well so goes the increase of the anointed partakers proportionately.
Another plausible answer to this increase might be the aging demographics of the body of the membership itself.
In no time of the WTS. history has there been more people who have been JWS for more than 50, 60 and upward of 70 years.
Some of these people over the length of being associated with the JWs, have resolved within themselves that they are now worthy of being
of the heavenly class, my mother in law to use an example.
If the Truth be known I would say she's slightly mentally diseased .......just saying

The rising occurrence of people partaking at the memorial is a result of mental disease upon these people .
Well so says the WTS.
So to clarify, people who are able to identify the corruption of the WT organization are mentally diseased as well the people who
are expressing their most ardent devotion to the WTS. organization ( god's earthly arrangement ).
Can anyone see the irony in that.

One notable thing that you can see in the WTS's emulation of the ancient Israelites is that men were curtailing the power around and for themselves.
Power was just as corruptible as it was then, as it is today.

but modern day people should know better than to emulate a 3000 year old society. They should.
Totally agree Sab. The ancient civilizations had to deal with their own ignorance of the world they lived in,
hence gods gave them the necessary and much needed answers, to not realize that or be in acceptance of that is being
very disingenuous toward this known fact.

Thinking about the dramas they have at conventions and you really start to see how much they are trying to emulate that ancient culture.
I wonder why they don't act out the killing of children for being disobedient to their parents or the killing of people working on Sabbath
or the rape and pillaging of other distant tribes, burnt animal sacrifices, slavery, the desecration and abuse of woman as bought for commodities.
The list could go on endlessly on how cruel and disgusting that ancient civilization was, not to mention the embellished stories they told
about their particular god of worship Yahweh. Thats where things get really disgusting.

In regards to the WTS., stupidity was a very valuable asset for it availed the WTS. to sell millions of pieces of literature for over a century.
Never underestimate the value of stupidity expressed through religious charlatanism. $$$
