Their idea that they are known to the rest of the world by their abstaining from blood, refusal to say the pledge of allegiance, and not celebrating the holidays. When in reality they are only known for peddling worthless magazines at the door. Their belief that the only morally clean people in the world are their own spiritual brothers and sisters, and the rest of the world is deep into drugs, sex and rock and roll (nothing wrong with that). Their thinking that they are the only religion that thinks this way about themselves.

Give All The Ways JWs Are Different From The "World" aka "Normal People"
by minimus inmy daughter was telling me yesterday that she was explaining the differences between jehovah's witnesses and other religions to her co-workers.
she explained that witnesses can't date "worldly" people-----only fellow witnesses.
she said jws don't celebrate birthdays because they are "pagan".......it dawned on my daughter that it was very incredible all the things jehovah's witnesses don't believe in or will not do.....can you think of different things that only jws do or do not do??

Hebrew Scriptures Jehovah vs. Greek Scripture Jehovah
by Black Man ini've always had a problem with the hebrew scriptures and the way god was portrayed.
it's like talkin' about 2 different gods.
on one hand you've got a petty, murderous, jealous, insecure sounding god (hebrew) and on the other you've got someone who is supposed to be the epitome of love.

I believe that the God of the bible was something that evolved to meet the culture that created him. In the beginning all of the nations were warlike and it was very nice to have a God that smote all of your neighbors, required sacrifices and got pissed when you fell out of line. Once, the Romans started taking over the Jews had to become more peaceful, and there weren?t as many other nations out there that were at war. The version of God from the Old Testament had to be redefined into one of love. And that was in the birth of Jesus Christ, or at least the writings that talk about him and the new religion that they formed and were perpetuated by Paul.

Comments You Will Not Hear at the 1-4-04 WT Study
by blondie inpriscilla and aquila, a first-century christian married couple, observed apollos giving a speech at a synagogue in the city of ephesus.
they know that the bulk of those baptized are children of current jws and that anywhere from 50 to 80 percent of them leave or are df?d/da?d within 5 years.. focus on people.
(2 timothy 2:15) (s) evidently (buzzword), they were serious students of the scriptures.

The Feb1st WT article minimus was talking about - scans
by dmouse inthey're saying the prophecy is possibly fulfilled of "peace and security and then sudden destruction" in the year 1986 when world leaders dubbed that year as the "year of peace".
the feb.1st watchtower mentions that just as a pregnant woman over 9 months gradually has signs of a baby's growth in the womb, so too, we may have a fulfillment of bible prophecy without knowing it fully beforehand until the effects and results become obvious.
my mother read excerpts of the wt.

The footnote on how to reach 607 bce is that the Bible states that the jews were held for 70 years and releasd in 537 bce. so, subtract 70 years and you get 607. Where exactly does it say that they were held for 70 years. I know that there is a prophesy that states that the nations will be held in subjection to Babylon for 70 years, but nothing about the jews being held captive. double speak, double speak, sidestep, sidestep, strawman to the rescue.

District conventions are held in Long Beach and the drive is 4 to 4-1/2 hours, depending on how low you fly. There is a convention in Las Vegas at the Convention Center in the Downtown area every year. The rumor is that they never fix the air-conditioning unit at this time because they know that we will be using the facility.

I have heard that there are a few halls in the New England area and also in the Pacific Northwest, of the United States, that have some significant mold problems. Even confirmed by Companies that are qualified to make these statements. These are some serious claims and many of these molds can put people in the hospital. It is still a debate among the watchtower, people not qualified to make these statements, what the causes are of the mold. But, word on the street is that most of the halls had problems during the quick builds. Some had rain during that time and the work went on, some had old barns that were remodeled into halls, and all use the modern building technique of making it airtight. Then you couple in the fact that there is not a lot of air movement that occurs in kingdom halls, of people moving from one room to another, and you get a situation where the mold can thrive. I think that the borg is putting together a group of its own members to try to fix some of these problems, but probably make things worse. And yes, I have heard that they will just sell some of the halls that are to big of problems.

Are We Powerless To Beat The Watchtower At Its Own Game?
by minimus inthe watchtower tries to slander and abuse anyone not on their side.
anyone that disagrees with them, "runs ahead of jehovah".
we are called "apostates" because we dare prove why the society is wrong.

I agree that sites like this one are doing a very good job at toppling the Tower. It may not get to the hardcore believers but once they want to get out and to learn some personal experiences from past members, or even get some good links to help them on their way, they will go to places like this.

by Mulan inmy jw girlfriend was here for coffee this morning, and gave me the assembly report.

CityFan- My wife is of the same mold as your mother. Why try to refute any of the claims in the Watchtower, after all they are far more intelligent that anybody else.
The next thing that he should look into is the mathematical correctness of pi in the bible. Maybe he can prove that it really does equal 3 as it is mentioned.

SEX talks at the sunday meetings
by wannaexit inthe last little while there have been many talks on sex at the sunday meetings.
it is sickening!
they are very explicit in nature.. don't they realize that there are many children in the audience that are not really ready to hear this particular information?.

The really hardcore take in these talks as if given by god himself. I never could understand why people need to be moderated on these subjects. As was earlier said, if we weren?t told about all of this stuff, then bestiality might be considered all right for us. Reminds me of those silly warning stickers on some items, ?Inserting your finger in power outlet might cause injury?.
