When my FRIENDS were "concerned" about ME and spoke to the elders on my "behalf", I really could have lived without it.
No exaggeration, it gave me a negative knee-jerk reaction to the word "concerned". That in itself is rather sad and telling.

i've been reading this thread for some time and finally had the opportunity to create an account.
i am anxious to meet you all and have a support group/active audience over the next crucial months and years following.
background: long-time doubter, giving way to frustration and skepticism beginning about 10 years ago and finally to total admission that this is a cult and that atheism is the way to go.

ok.... looking for some logical explainations.... my daughter, ali, who i've been posting about on the forum...who has developed congestive heart failure.... has had some spooky experiences lately in her house.
here are a few of the things that happened:.
about a month ago, ali and her son david, heard noises from the attic above ali's bedroom...that sounded like something was being dragged across the attic floor.
Coffee, I'm sorry your daughter and her awesome kids are going through this extra stress right now.
I have no answers, nor any suggestions, but having read all of the comments, a thought occurred to me:
If indeed someone was trying to scare Ali away (for real estate procurement or any other reason) why would he or she place the socks and sandals in the attic, especially when it is so difficult to access? Is there even a ladder close by the attic access?
It looks to me that the chance of her finding those items would be so remote as to not seem worth the trouble to break in and stage those items as they were found.

i'm sure others have had the same experience, but it's a bit odd to me now as i see how all the business of jw-land and the constant social proddings can keep a person from leaving for quite some time.. if it hadn't been for the inquisition i might not have left.. .
i'm glad they felt my wife and i were important enough to hound, because that helped immensely.. now for the past two years now i've finally gotten back to being the book-consuming, thinking-machine i was in the past.. .
