what do you think of canada, and canadians?
be honest, good or bad or in between, it'd be neat to read what impression non-canadians have of us canuckastanis (thanks pat buchanan).
I am a proud Canaucker who loves this country that I'm in...wouldn't trade it for anything...ever!
I think alot of the canadians that I now slag on the americans cuz of the ignorance that some have...and they judge it as an opinion that the whole US has about us... the snow..the "american lite"....and how we talk eh??

when i left the org the elders would come by at the most inopportune time at least every day sometimes twice.
i never answered the door, i just continued doing whatever it was i was doing and ignored the pounding at the door knowing it ticked them off because they knew i was home.
when the witnesses randomly come to my door now i still don't answer but have thought about it just to give them hell.
When they come calling I avoid answering the door just cuz I don't need something like that to ruin my day. My bro however when he lived with me, would talk to then...the bugger ended up on the "return visit" list ...so one day when my bro wasn't home they came calling and I told them to never come back because he thought they were full of sh*t! LOL
Where I have just moved however they like to drop the damn rags in my mailbox which bothers me more cuz I can't tell them not too...I have put up a sign however saying "wt propaganda is not welcome here"

even though you couldn't celebrate holidays growing up as a jw, did your parents ever have alternatives instead?
in my case, we never celebrated christmas, we had "surprise day" usually a week before.
instead of celebrating thanksgiving, we would have a turkey dinner a few weeks later.
I'm suddenly reminded of the episode of "Seinfeld".....
"A festivus for the restuvus" LOL
My mom would always have over the single moms from the KH and have a turkey dinner on christmas day or boxing day for a little "get together" LOL whatever

i finally have the courage to come out of the apostate closet with my extended family and my old family friends.
i thought that day would never come, but i just got the courage today.
what ironically inspired me was a kingdom hall.

when we were in the org, we had to watch our language, and speak correctly and never swear.
people knew we were jw's just by the way we dressed, but also by the way we talked.

Since I started school I have been trying to "curb my tongue" a bit more. Before school however !!!! It was getting a little outta hand! I was like a drunken sailor ! eeeks! Not very nice for a lady
Now it only gets really outta hand if I'm mad or upset...which isn't very often of course

recently my brother, sister, and i talked for the first time about how we survived the meetings when we were kids.
i loved hearing their stories.. i had a whole imaginary world i went into.
once the songs were over and the talk started, i would focus on the speaker to look like i was listening and then zone out.
With a Big imagination....
