  Jesus death and resurrection

  trying to get these dates straight.

  ok. passover nissan 14, jesus had the passover supper and announced to his deciples he would be dying.

  so, that was this past monday., the next day he was killed (correct?

  Trying to get these dates straight. OK. Passover Nissan 14, Jesus had the passover supper and announced to his deciples he would be dying. So, that was this past Monday., The next day he was killed (Correct?) so that was Tuesday. Shouldn't the memorial be on Tuesday this year?

  Also he was in the grave 3 days and then resurrected. That would take us to Friday. So why do they call it "Good Friday"? and then we have Easter, which is nothing to me but Lamb dinner and a lot of marshmellow bunny candy sent from my Mom!

  most of you know i'm a jw; i irritate you enough defending the truth as i know it- yet i admit a lot of the foolishness that sometimes rears its ugly head with my brotherhood...today it was the circuit overseer!

  wonderful man; very caring, very encouraging, very zealous!

  all this disappeared as his head bobbed up & down - endlessly- as he read the plain, stereo-typical talks from hq...if it wasn't for my wife- and the wonderful friends in the congregation, i would've walked out in the first 5 minutes!

  so is that the "strange thing"?

  empty seats? Depends on the weather,congregation, etc. Here in Delray Beach, they have to hire a civic center to pack 'em in. I don't know about this year, though, cause I did not attend!

  i hated every minute at the memorial yesterday.seeing members talking less and sitting in their seats earlier.

  sisters wearing their best.

  the 4 prayers were longer than usual.

  I never really minded the lyrics;they were,after all, Bible based. But the MELODYS. CORNY and boring. Whoever wrote the music part was just awful! Funny, sang 'um since '67. just dropped out last year, and can hardly recall any of them. But that could be alzheimers!
