Nice 1975 quote from F Franz, in 1975
by Splash in*** w75 5/1 p. 285 a contrastmissionaries with an urgent, lifesaving work ***.
another speaker, f. w. franz, the societys vice-president, forcefully impressed on the audience the urgency of the christian preaching work.. he stressed that, according to dependable bible chronology, 6,000 years of human history will end this coming september according to the lunar calendar.
this coincides with a time when the human species [is] about to starve itself to death, as well as its being faced with poisoning by pollution and destruction by nuclear weapons.. franz added: theres no basis for believing that mankind, faced with what it now faces, can exist for the seventh thousand-year period under the present system of things.

Excellent topic.
The WT/FDS/GB had place themselves between God the Father and Jesus, as in:
"The anointed and their other sheep companions recognize that by following the lead of the modern-day Governing Body, they are in fact following their Leader, Christ." Watchtower 2010 Sep 15 p.23.
Psalm 146:3: "Put not your trust in princes, in a son of man, in whom there is no salvation. "

And, the GB gets some free time during theit meetings, no? because currently I believe they have to spend sometime reviewing the applications.
What I dont understand is the emotional build up of waiting for a magazine to give further instruction, but og well, the R&F needs anxiety these days it seems like...

Thinking about it, I believe this is just to give the impression to the congregation that the CO is the one doing the appointings like in Paul's times.
The same thing they said before: the elders are appointed by the GB, but we all know that the GB dont know the brothers they are appointing.
So, at the end, the elders are the ones that know the brothers that can be future-elders.
It will be an illusion for the R&F since, how is the CO appoint brothers to be elders, if the elders within the congregations sometimes dont even know the full profile of the brothers they recommend?

"In accord with this Scriptural precedent"
My question is, will the GB/WT/FDS accept that the way they used to do it before was not scriptural?? Me thinks not!

Hello, You read it here first!
Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses
TO ALL CONGREGATIONS
Re: Adjustment in process for appointing elders and ministerial servantsDear Brothers:
With regard to Paul and Barnabas’ visit to Lystra, Iconium, and Antioch, Acts 14:23 states: “They appointed elders for them in each congregation, offering prayer with fasting, and they en- trusted them to Jehovah, in whom they had become believers.” Titus and Timothy evidently are also recorded as taking part in appointing elders in the congregations. (1 Tim. 5:22; Titus 1:5) In accord with this Scriptural precedent, the Governing Body has decided that effective September 1, 2014, circuit overseers will be responsible for the appointment and deletion of elders and ministerial serv- ants. Additional information will appear in the November 15, 2014, issue of The Watchtower.
We request your continued prayers on our behalf as the preaching work is speeding up and more and more people are beginning to worship God by going to “the mountain of the house of Je- hovah.” (Isa. 2:2) Please accept an expression of our warm Christian love.
Your brothers,
Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses
PS to body of elders:
Please arrange for this letter to be read to the congregation at the first Service Meeting after its receipt or after the next Watchtower Study, whichever comes first. This postscript should not be read to the congregation, and the letter should not be posted on the information board. If the circuit overseer is visiting your congregation, he will read this letter at the conclusion of the next congregation meeting. At circuit assemblies and special assembly days, the letter will be read by the last speaker on the program at the conclusion of his talk. We would appreciate your keeping this matter confidential until the letter is read to the congregation or circuit.
In due course, further direction regarding the aforementioned adjustments will be provided to all bodies of elders.
