  12 the mosaic law made it a capital offense to profane gods name.

  In the Bible, you would get stoned for:

  For cursing or blaspheming (Leviticus 24:16)

  For adultery (including urban rape victims who fail to scream loud enough) (Deuteronomy 22:23-24)

  For a woman who is not a virgin on her wedding night (Deuteronomy 22:13-21)

  For worshipping other gods (Deuteronomy 17:2-5)

  For disobeying parents (Deuteronomy 21:18-21)

  For breaking the Sabbath (Numbers 15:32-56)

  For cursing the king (1 Kings 21:10)

  Tell me if these are good reasons to put somebody to death in such a cruel way!!!! (Except maybe the guy who raped, but still)

  Why JW assemblies NEED to change

  the assemblies would be get better results and get more people to come and be inspired if they were more encouraging.

  instead the assemblies are a giant guilt trip.

  don't go to college, don't get a good job, dont buy things even if you can afford them, don't play violent games, don't flirt.

  Very good thread. If you ask anybody that went to the assembly, they will reply with a blank stare. People don't listen anymore because is the same always the same.

  im sure this has been discussed before but i was wondering if anyone has any links to pdf or online versions of some of these so called discredited and banned books of the bible...?

  we've all heard the true story.. william miller, a baptist lay preacher and war hero, carefully worked out the 2nd coming of jesus using the bible and chronology.. he was invited to speak and explain his warnings and proof in many churches.

  tens of thousands heard and believed and waited.. nothing happened.

  the great big nothing was called "the great disappointment.".
