  First and the Last of Rev 1:17 - why in caps?

  referring to the excellent "kitchen" witness scene in gregbetre's thread regarding jw's denying the deity of the christ, i do have one question..... .

  rev 1:8; 17-18; 22:13 states that jesus christ is the alpha and the omega, the first and the last, and the beginning and the end.

  i don't think it is true that all jw's will say that rev 1:17 refers to jehovah.

  Hi Trot,

  I can only come up with the obvoius here. They may be thinking that somehow subliminally by the use of caps it would lead the reader to believing that it is the Father being spoken of. Sometimes, I think that the sole pupose of the WT's existence is to knock the deity of Jesus whatever way possible.

  In Isaiah when the Father proclaims that he is the first and the last..does the watchtower take that to be referring to his resurrection too? Wow, actually that would lead them into concluding that Jesus is Jehovah. Oh my, we can't have that now can we???????

  I used to think that they were masters of deception. Now I just think they're dumb. dj

  i don't think so.sorry if you are one i have nothing against you personnally, nor jw's come to think of it, but offering your version of truth to jw's is for them to jump out of the frying pan into the fire.. the bible is the root of jw problems , and following that book in which ever way you wish will always be in error..

  Joseph, I am really sorry but I read your post twice and I'm still not quite certain what you mean. I find it a bit sad when people call others "born agains". Don't you? I mean as far as I've seen whether a person goes by the name Lutheran or Methodist or Presbyterian or Baptist or Non-denominational etc. they all have the same exact basic understanding of the gospel. Born again refers to the new life lived as a Christian and dying to the former ways. All Christians must be born again. I don't know why such a big deal is made about this phraseology. Christianity is born again believers who make up the body of Christ. Christians are followers of Christ...servants of Him......friends with Him. For the fist time in my life I can read the bible and see perfectly clearly what it says!!!! I admit I do not get all of it but I am absolutely and positively sure that I am being slowly fed like a baby. I do not need the teachings of man...the holy spirit teaches me. I am not so wonderful that the holy spirit teaches me.....I just asked and it was given to me.....UNBELIEVABLE!! I wish for everyone the faith to ask and receive. It brings such peace to my soul. This world has it's hard times but I still have this inside peace and hope that dwells in me. The wt never gave me anything close!

  I think that a lot of people confuse Born Again with a denomination. It is what Christianity is. I can only think of a few cults who would disagree with that.I may have to duck some punches here but it's what the bible teaches. Oh heck, I'm ready...............yikes! dj

  I feel that an XJW who is now a BA can help a struggling JW. I think it is practically impossible to help a JW if they don't want help. I also find it almost impossible for a BA who was never a JW to help a struggling JW.

  lol....in other words I think that XJW'S are the best suited to help a jw. It depends on whether or not the person seeking help is still interested in the bible or not. If he is, then an XJW now BA can be extremely helpful. If they have lost all faith, then naturally an XJW now BA is just another lie to them. dj

  IMHO.....they seare your conscience with manipulative lies and frighten you into believing it. They, themselves are unstable and somehow they make it contagious to people who don't already understand the gospel message. I find it interesting how they have no power over those who already had a handle on the teachings of Christ. They utterly destroy the free mind of those who desire to know God but have not yet seeked him personally. I am no longer under their control......Yipeeee! dj

  Hilight text, right click, choose copy. Go to post box where you post and at the top beside the on the right click quote icon and paste your quote in the shadded box. It worked for me.

  most of you know about my mother, she passed away from this world 17 yrs ago tomorrow, sept. 15, 1985. her passing was very hard on my sister and me , because it was a suicide.

  she had been a witness for 16 years and even almost died standing up for the blood issue in 1983, due to a stomach ulcer, and too many asprins.

  her blood count went down to 2 and she had to be put in a lear jet to get to houston, tx.

  That made me sad. I'm sorry that happened to you and your mama. I don't have the words to tell you how I feel about the blood refusal thing and then df'd for smoking. Sick, just sick! I have no idea how your dad could remain in good standing when he moved this sister in your house??

  This whole story is upsetting. I wish that you didn't have to go thru it . I am so glad that you saw them for who they are though.........((((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))))))

  Hello Towerman my Friend,

  Great article! Matt. 11:28 was KEY for me during my transition from the watchtower to Christianity! All of my life I was taught that I could not pray to Jesus. It would be false worship.....WHEN my eyes were opened to Matt 11:28, I cried with joy literally. Although still indocrinated by the wt....this was the beginning of the end of their false doctrines for me! I remember saying to myself, "Wait a minute.....how on earth can I "come to Him" if I can't pray to Him??? This was the start of my freedom in Christ! The road has been long but I've been spoon fed like a babe ever since............!

  BEST THING THAT EVER HAPPENED TO ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
