sorry, to be so blunt- for a whole day i have watched people here patting themselves on the back- we're a large army, oohh, look out wt, we might do something, well not today or tomorrow, but someday!
maybe, i have to just accept that a lot of jw's who are exiting the kh by the back door will never find a backbone to stand up to mummy and elder daddy.. jw's have a learned ability to see themselves in a better light than everyone else sees them.
ask a jw, if they are a charitable religion and they would likely all say they are, but when pressed to name a charity they will be unable to do so.
After being in the "public eye" for way too many years under different circumstances, both with the witnesses and without, I am happy to sit back and just work with family.
Sometimes, quiet works better than shouting from the roof tops making a scene.
I will tell you this, my husband who was never a witness but fed up with my connection did this: He had us all in a small Honda civic, and we went out and bought the biggest fresh Christmas tree we could get and strapped it to the roof. He made a quick turn in to the local Kingdom hall as they were letting out on a Sunday, rolled down his window and shouted Merry Christmas as he slowly made his way through the parking lot.
I was shocked, and of course there were enough people that recognized me as my mother's daughter in the passenger front seat. I heard about it for a long time afterward and it did nothing for any cause what so ever, other than label people as opposers and haters.
One thing he did do was write the PO about how they get to the Governing Body scenario. The PO wrote a 10 page type written letter back to him, which he handed off to my mom first. She read it first and said....."Good lord, he was never able to answer the question."
So which in your opinion might have had more impact?
I have learned in my life, those shouting the loudest, are usually the most insecure about themselves and their position.

i saw a story this morning about a guy who is making cheese using his wife's breast milk.. i checked a poll and 80% of people think this is gross.
i must admit there is a part of me that is repulsed too.
my scientific "geek" and curious side is intrigued and would want to try it... but then the repulsion kicks in again.
Just wanted to send my congrats to Burns on the up coming event!
I know this is going a little off subject here, but I had a great trick for getting solid food started. Every dinner I cooked I would save some and put everything in a blender with a little water and freeze it in ice cube trays. In other words, the meat, potatoes and vegs all together as long as they weren't too spicy.
Then I'd just micro a cube or two. Both my boys loved it and I rarely ever bought jarred baby food.

they are showing it on the awards tonight and i really want to see it...just wondered what people thought of it.
did you enjoy it?.
snoozy.
I didn't much like Hurt Locker, my husband liked it. (From Deceived)
I totally agree. I didn't understand all the oscars etc. It just wasn't that great. I was really dissapointed after watching it and felt I had wasted my money.

From zoiks:
My little brother was old enough to say, "Don't wean me, mommy!
My oldest was old enough at 2 plus years old to say, "Nuresy momma" I got him weaned inviting some friends with kids his age to stay with us. He forgot all about it. What a relief.

Nipple shields didn't cut it. If I heard a baby cry, it was all over. Just goes to show you the power of the brain even based on hearing.

It wasn't funny when I was in a room full of people, and I would start squirting. Kind of like peeing in your pants.

Oh no no! Human milk is for human babies. It contains the nutrients and the mother's anti bodies for many diseases for the first 6 months.
Again, it is meant for babies not adults. (Gag at the idea adults would be consumers of this very personal product)

bedtime story.
bed is sweet and safe.
warm and comfortable, too.
In his haste to hit the sheets, Brad forgot to check under the bed and in the closet.....
The hangers were askew, which reminded him there were clothes in the dryer and there was dust under the bed creating tumbleweeds. As he tried to drift off, the thoughts of these minuscule problems kept him from falling into the escape of sweet dreams.
Brad slowly threw back the covers, slid his legs over the side of the bed, and with a sigh marched out to get the swiffer, suddenly realizing this wasn't really the problem. What had happened during the day to create this obsession with dust bunnies? What details had he not taken care of?
The murder had gone perfectly, certainly no DNA was left behind. Every detail was taken care of, except what? Something was wrong.
