raised 4 kids in jw religion.
none are baptized and all are now adults.
they all have their own issues to this day from the crap that they were raised in.. anyone else share this similar history?
Thank you for reaching out. I immediately noticed these comments:
My husband was a MS but went along "because of me" he said.
My husband said that I threatened to leave if he didn't also study (which I don't remember saying).
but said he felt he had no choice in becoming a JW. That I gave an ultimatum.
when I wasn't around he would swear, etc
You may not remember doing these things, but it is important to respect that this is the way he feels. By arguing back that this is him "blaming" you is disregarding the validity of his emotions.
If you really want to motivate him to communicate with your children, try patching things up between the two of you first. Otherwise, he may continue to disregard your approach--there has to be mutual respect here.
As XJWs we all bear some level of resentment for the religion and those who brought us into it. I know many men who became JWs for wives and girlfriends, while thinking it was just another bogus religion. If your husband did feel pressured into becoming a JW, could this show how important you were to him?
On the other hand, the same love has been twisted into resentment because of the waste and drama your family had to go through. Then add to this that he feels pushed to fix things up with your children--by the same woman that pushed him into the religion in the first place. Could this be part of his humility problem?
If you still love this man, try pulling instead of pushing. Ask him to communicate his feelings of how he feels about you and JWs. Accept those feelings without judgment, even if it hurts. Heal your issues as a couple and then you can help your children together.
yesterday pm while on gabbly two jw's came into my shop (former customers) with an overheating problem.. they saw my other copy of coc.
i asked what can we do for you?
they both were staring at the book, i noticed the car was spewing steam and coolant.
we all know the watchtower soicety can be deceitful at times.
one place i've noticed their deceit is in their main 'bible' study/cult introduction book 'what does the bible really teach?
designed for a jw holding a bible study with an interested person, this books tries to convince the person being studied with, that this religion knows the truth about the bible.
Bait and switch.
my friend called and told me there were 3 announcements last night at the kh saying x, x, & x are no longer jw's.
they all da'd themselves.
all 3 sent letters out to a select group of friends and family before they gave their letters to the elders.
Would you be willing to let us know what congregation this was? At least the general area?
I would enjoy finding out that the newly DA'ed are browsing this site...
the society claims that all appointments of elders and ministerial servants in the congregation are made by holy spirit.
now, the inexperienced or new witness is under the impression that jehovah, by means of his holy spirit, puts it into the hearts and minds of the body of elders that so-and-so is ready to serve, and the appointment happens accordingly.. but they actually employ a sort of deception with this process, because when they say, "holy spirit directs all appointments of men in the congregation", they actually mean that each brother considered for appointment is examined to see if he has the qualities listed by paul in his letter to timothy about the qualities of congregation shepherds.
so they reason that since that writing of paul's was inspired by holy spirit, then by extension, the appointments which happen as a result of using that list of qualities to examine an individual, the appointment is made by holy spirit.. this is like saying that people are hand-picked by simon for american idol because the regional producers of the show use a list of things to look for in contestants and that list just happened to be written by simon.
That would be like me saying that I was going to stand by and watch as my son got molested because it would be my way of "testing" him to see if he would defend himself.
Actually there are many JWs who "stand by and watch" as their children get molested too. Interesting how cults work, isn't it?

95 11/1 p.29 Comfort for Those With a "StrickenSpirit" ***What if the one accused—though denying the wrongdoing—is really guilty? Does he "get away with it," as it were? Certainly not! The question of his guilt or innocence can be safely left in Jehovah’s hands. "The sins of some men are publicly manifest, leading directly to judgment, but as for other men their sins also become manifest later." (1 Timothy 5:24; Romans 12:19; 14:12) The book of Proverbs says: "The expectation of the righteous ones is a rejoicing, but the very hope of the wicked ones will perish." "When a wicked man dies, his hope perishes." (Proverbs 10:28; 11:7) Ultimately, Jehovah God and Christ Jesus render everlasting judgment in justice.—1 Corinthians 4:5.

Excellent coverage...I am happy to let the public judge this one.
dear friends, .
on various fronts there has been much discussion on the children of jehovah's witnesses being pushed into premature baptism.
the statement that the society prepared for the european commission on human rights, however, is quite revealing.
I believe this recent articles show that child baptism is still very much in favour with the Society.

Among those who became Bible Students in the United States and returned to what had become Czechoslovakia was Michal Šalata. He returned to the nearby village of Secovce, where he once lived, and he helped organize the preaching work in Czechoslovakia. Brother Šalata took me with him on preaching tours. Then, in 1924, at the age of 13, I asked him to baptize me. Although Mother considered me rather young for such a serious step, I convinced her that it was my firm decision. So, that July during a one-day convention held near the Ondava River, I symbolized my dedication to Jehovah by baptism in the waters of that river.

Despite the political unrest, our brothers in Ireland are actively sharing in the ministry, and they are respected for their neutral stand. Ireland has 115 congregations in 6 circuits, said Branch Committee member Peter Andrews. Brother Andrews told an experience about Liam, a ten-year-old boy who is fearless in witnessing in school. Liam placed My Book of Bible Stories, published by Jehovah’s Witnesses, with 25 of his classmates as well as with his teacher. Liam wanted to be baptized, but someone asked if he was too young. Liam replied: “It is not my age but my love for Jehovah that should be the determining factor. My baptism will show how much I love him.” Liam’s goal is to become a missionary.

My sister Sonia was born in 1928. She was only seven years old when she dedicated her life to Jehovah. Sonia says that even at that young age, pioneering had become her goal. In 1941, soon after symbolizing her dedication by water baptism, she realized that goal when she and Mother were assigned as pioneers to Caerphilly, South Wales.
