  welcome to this site- after thinking about it for awhile and reading through all 7 pages i have come to the conclusion that actually it is a good thing that you have chosen to use some pretty large words on these threads-.

  while i in noway understood half of what you have written-- i am impressed- i started thinking-- where would a person like this fit into wt world esp if you are a male.

  I would like to add that my wife and I went back to college at the old age of 40ish. Our major was phychology.

  We believe the better educated you are in all fields of choice the better a person we become.

  I say this because we are no longer in the forest(WBTS) but standing on the outside looking in. Yes we are active JW, but that does not mean we have blindfolders on. We let Jehovah and His Son handle the important issues of life. I believe they have a good view of what is going on. What they want to do with it is, well, none of my business.

  I have used this illustration many a times. In fact just yesterday at the Home Depot store. I would like to share it with you.

  We have two persons. One in a forest and one in a airplane overhead.

  The one in the airplane ask the person in the forest what does he see.

  The person in the forest says he is in a forest of pines.

  The person in the airplane remarks back, no you are in a forest of oak.

  The better view of the pilot sees the total picture. The person in the forest was correct from his viewpoint. All he could see were pine trees around him. However, the pine grove was just a small part of the total forest that the airplane pilot saw, which was oak.

  The more we educate ourselves the more we see the total picture like the pilot in the airplane.

  I do not care to labor the issue, but I believe about 50 percent of the elders (world wide) don't even have a high school degree. Know that make chills go up ones back.

  JT, my wife and I hope we never stop learning. We like the view from the airplane.

  Do you legally join the WatchTower Society ?

  there has been some discussion in the past on whether people became legal members of the watchtower society or not when they got baptised and whether this was made clear to them.

  the wt argues that you are or are not a legal member as it suits them.. here is a thought.... on their website's privacy statement at http://www.watchtower.org/contact/privacy.htm (linked from the 'request contact' form) they say:.

  will the watchtower society disclose the information it collects to outside parties?.

  This might be of interest to you and others.

  I had a friend, who went through a very, very sticky disfellowshiping, who requested what information they had about himself. He was told by the elders that there was no information about him at the kingdom hall. What they said was true. I personally know that they gathered his information and sent it to Brooklyn Bethel.

  If you are referring to the WBTS system of disfellowshiping == I agree.

  My hope is that one of these days they will get their reasoning in line with human life. They have in the past 20 years caused many spiritual rapes and stabbings by allowing their officers (elders) free rein to abuse.

  WHY I FIRED MY SECRETARY

  Two weeks ago, was my ___ birthday, and I wasn’t feeling too hot that morning anyway. I went to breakfast, knowing my wife would be pleasant and say Happy Birthday and probably have a present for me. She didn’t even say Good Morning, let alone any Happy Birthday. I said, well, that’s wives for you. The children will remember. The children came to breakfast and didn’t say a word. When I started to the office I was feeling pretty low and despondent.

  As I walked into my office, my secretary, Janet said, “Good Morning, Boss, Happy Birthday.” And I felt a little better; someone had remembered.

  I worked until noon.

  About noon Janet knocked on my door and said, “You know it’s such a beautiful day outside and it’s your birthday, let’s go to lunch, just you and me.

  I said, “By George, that’s a greatest thing I’ve heard all day. Let’s go.”

  We went to lunch. We didn’t go where we normally go; we went out into the country to a little private place. We had two martinis and enjoyed lunch tremendously.

  On the way back to the office, she said, “You know, it’s such a beautiful day. We don’t need to go back to the office. Do we?” I said, “No, I guess not.” She said, “Let’s go to my apartment.”

  After arriving at her apartment, we had another martini and smoked a cigarette and she said, “Boss, if you don’t mind, I think I’ll go into the bedroom and slip into something more comfortable.” “Sure,” I excitedly replied.

  She went inot the bedroom and in about six minutes, she came out .... carrying a birthday cake followed by my wife and children. All were singing Happy Birthday.

  And there I sat with nothing on but my socks.

  A friend e-mail this to me just last week, knowing on the 10th of June would be my birthday.

  Hope you enjoyed the humor of it.

  P.S. Waiting, I hope you enjoyed the above. It’s getting a little sticky around here. I remember when you invited me over here from H20. It was light and lively HERE with just the few of us. Not condoning or condemning but it has become like the old H20, everybody is right in their own eyes, allowing no room for freedom of thought. Sounds a little bit like the WBTS with its governing board of know it alllllls.

  OutnFree, many I call you sister?

  Sister, that was one fine post. If more would be up front, instead of hiding behind, whatever. We would have a more honest group.

  Sis, what I mean by this is, and I am not saying you and not in all cases other here, but by a large number, everyone is blaming someone else for their problems of life. We need to be responsible humans and carry our own problems as long as we can.

  In my personal opinion you are doing the correct thing in going back to the Bible.
  
  On another personal view, I never tell anyone I am one of JW's (unless I am in house to house work) I aways say lets see what the Bible has to say. For me the Bible is a good book to live by. For example, one point, if I can apply Galation 5:22-23 in my life I think I will be doing ok. I keep trying. Sis, this might sound strange to you, but I don't ask Jehovah to solve this problem or that problem for me no more than an adult after leaving his parents home is forever going back for advice. If the parents did a good job of setting down good standards that adult will know what to do. The same with Jehovah and His word the Bible. The standards are good if your looking for the good and not focusing on the bad.

  On the matter of looking into other books of wisdom, I encourage you to do so. I do. We can find good advice from books of whatever, as long as they are for our good health -- mentality, physically and emotionaly.

  I got this data in an e-mail from a non-witness source about 3 months ago.

  I thought it very enlightening.

  As regards Jehovah causing all our problems. Well, as I have said many, many times, I do not believe so.

  Jehovah is just setting back watching us JACKASSES making JACKASSES out of ourselves.
