I was more frightened because of the many demon stories we were told as children. But I also remember seeing faces in the literature. One sister was good at finding them and would joke about it after the meetings.
IF these subliminal findings were put in purposely by the WTS, together with the constant talk about Satan and his demons seeking to devour us, this could influence some people. (I am not saying this is any proof.) Then again, I too wouldn’t put it past WTS. I think humans are more easily influenced then we would like to admit.
Today I don’t believe in spirits or demons of any kind. I don’t agree when people demonise everyone and everything in the WTS, it is not a demon organisation, it is a human organisation. As I was leaving the organisation I was very afraid of Satan and had to learn to trust worldly people.

I am not sure what to think about the WT art. I hope there will be more “revelations” about this in the future. It surly is interesting.

I felt the same way when I first found that site. Much of the WT art is scary even without subliminal messages. But there are so many hidden faces in the publications it seems more then just a coincident. I wonder if any ex-bethelites can give us more insights on the WT art department.

most people would consider it very wacky to connect the pyramid of gizah with the bible.
russell's claim was that the pyramid, the 1.st wonder of the world, was a witness down the ages containing god's plan.
the teachings and ideas on this seem to be so complex, that few people would spend / waste the time required to study these things.
You might also add that you don't have to believe everything Russell ever wrote to belong to the group, despite lovelylil's experience with the BibleStudent forum.

I looked up the Insight book and bible commentaries, they explains Numbers 13:33 to be a false “bad report” in order to strike terror and cause panic among the Israelites (Num. 14:36, 37). -Well, I guess it had to be a false report otherwise there would have been an obvious contradiction. This is interesting and new to me. What is the correct verse? Genesis chapter 13 only goes to verse 18.

does anyone else find themselves embarrassed about their jw past?
i find that when people that know what i used to be ask me about it i am completely embarrassed by how foolish their beliefs sound especially things like the blood issue.
i can't stand when someone will say "why did you believe such and such....?
Yes I feel very embarrassed about this. Even though most of the time I do mention it, people are very interested and find it fascinating. But I can’t help it, I still don’t what everyone to know. Only close or longtime friends know of my past JW life. I also feel urged to inform them that I was born into it as an excuse that is not really necessary.
The few people that say “that could never happen to me!” I find most annoying. And I do mention that many who at first said they would never follow this religion are the very ones who became fanatic JW’s.
